Dude, Mac OS X server isnt x86 so id be wasting my time. What I meant is getting 10.4.3 tiger to boot over a network (sorry should have been more specific).....

Btw can be installed over X86...so is possible..if you go on one of major BT site you gonna find a file which is in size about 35 megs, which is converting your OSX install into a Mac Server....

I read up on this a bit the other day on apple.com and it essentially said that you can create Multiple NetBoot images on your OS X server, for different configurations, even different builds, say for PPC or OS X for Intel. You should be able to create a server NetBoot image that will boot on x86 machines (provided your motherboard will play along). I'm not guessing that different images could be created for different platforms, it specifically mentioned Intel Based Macs.

The one catch as I can tell so far is that while the server packages will install over your existing 10.4 install (be it PPC or Intel-check forum people have done it) the server apps will be PPC code, so it wouldn't be the fastest thing around, and every service might not start up correctly.

I'm waiting on parts for my new Intel machine, when I have everything in I intend on giving it a go, both netboot from a PPC server and netboot from an Intel server. It'll be at least a week though.
