MarianoJA
Hi ! I have an Acer Aspire 5610-4648 with iAtkos v4i and recently updated to 10.5.5 I currently have Vanilla Kernel 9.5 and would like to have sleep working on my lappy...... Battery seems to be working fine, although as it is dead I cannot tell if the info it gives is real or not regarding charge % and time. Here's the dump of ACPI : kextstat | grep ACPI 18 10 0x2dfa3000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily (1.2.0) <12> 19 4 0x2dff1000 0x3d000 0x3c000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (1.0.5) <18 17 12 7 4> 27 0 0x33ebb000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIButtons (1.0.5) <21 19 18 7 6 5 4 2> 30 0 0x33fb2000 0x5000 0x4000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIEC (1.0.5) <29 19 18 12> 34 0 0x3416d000 0x3000 0x2000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPCI (1.0.5) <19 18 17 12> 67 0 0x34453000 0xc000 0xb000 com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin (3.1.7d0) <66 65 18 17 12 7 6 5 4> 74 0 0x344dc000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPowerSource (1.0.5) <19 18 12> Hope you could give me a hand, other than that the only remaining parts of my laptop not recognized are built-in camera (dont care much about it) and Card Reader (not a big deal neither). Thanks a lot for your help ! Regards, Mariano

Do it in Terminal then with root Rights. sudo su rm -rf theoldfiledraghere mv thenewfile theFolderwhereitshouldbenow chmod -R 755 thenewFileintherightFolder (drag just) chown -R root:wheel thenewFileintherightFolder(drag just)
hathornd
Alright, thanks a lot. And do I just type that in Terminal and change what you say, but everything else stays verbatim? Like "(drag just)" beside the mod and own lines? And where should I have the bundle to begin with? Does that even matter if I tell Terminal where it's path is? So many questions... I need a unix lesson or two, definitely.

Aaron Lee
Hi all. Was tinkering around with these fixes for a while trying to get battery function on my Toshiba Portege M200 using the Kalyway 10.5.2 install. Nothing I did seemed to give any indication of battery functionality using any modifications of PowerManagement.bundle or modifications of the info.plist. Worse yet, somewhere in my tinkerings I've caused a kernel panic upon boot up that I cannot recover from. Booting normally and in safe mode cause immediate kernel panics upon the grey apple loading screen. Booting in verbatim mode is just nonsensical to my unknowledgeable eyes, and booting from the kalyway install disk works, but repairing the disk and permissions, while seeming to do something, don't actually solve the boot kernel panic. Since I know nothing of this stuff other than the directions I follow on these forums, I have no idea how to solve this without reinstalling the entire OS, while not the end of the world, would undo a lot of the other functions I got working already (tablet functionality primarily). Please someone give me a laymans workaround to fixing this panic without an entire reinstall. I would certainly appreciate it. Going through this for the batter function doesn't seem worth it. Aaron Lee
Well I ended up reinstalling. The amount of time to do that felt better than the time to understand and fix what I messed up. But now that I've got things back and running, I still would like to get the battery functions working. Has anyone managed this with a Toshiba Portege M200? Does the laptop even matter, or is it dependent on the install used? I've seen several people in this thread report success with the Kalyway 10.5.2 installation, but no definitive solution as to how that was attained. This topic has thrown several solutions out, with several powermanagement bundles of varying file size, and I ended up trying so many that I irreparably screwed things up. I don't know the difference for people who used modified files versus those who retained the original files or the vanilla files. Could anyone who has successfully got the battery meter functions working on the Kalyway 10.5.2 install detail exactly what method they used? BuXb
Hey guys. Has anyone that got their powermanagement working noticed that their DVD and Frontrow no longer shows video (only sound can be heard. Video is black). I have an asus a8js laptop, and when the powermanagement is set up, the battery icon etc works, and then the DVD player no longer plays video. If I change my AppleACPIPowerSource.kext version back to 1.0.5, the battery meter and power management things go away (obviously), but the DVD Player and Frontrow works again!. I traced it all the way to the powermanagement (I wanted to watch a movie, and it wasn't working when I t used to...I did many updates, etc and didn't know what broke it, so I did a fresh install on a spare harddrive I had, doing graphics updates, software updates etc step by step checking the DVD player, and it was working up until I finally got to the point where I wanted to have the battery meter. Then I discovered that if powermanagement was installed, the DVD player didn't work, and if I uninstalled/disabled (by changing the version #), DVD's worked again. So anyways, just curious if anyone else has experienced this or know how to fix this? yes, me, in Leo & Snow ...
