Macs Rock

I installed the deadmoo image on my Thinkpad (or thinkBook  R40 with triple boot (Suse Linux, Windows, Deadmoo) maxxus 0.5 patches and it works wonderfully! I think that those few minutes are no enough to decide on a mac in the store, which is why i installed deadmoo. Deadmoo has been my deciding factor to switch to intel macs. In two years (most programs will be universal) i am planning to buy an intel iBook. I think this project is awesome, and i would like to thank the forums that i trawled for hours on install tips (solving HFS + error in grub...) To get to mac i need to go through 3 (!) bootloaders (grub, Windows, Darwin). Thank you Apple for such a great OS, Thank you for OSX86 for letting me try Mac with a budget of $0, and most importantly thank you for the informative posts in this forum! Remember, if a n00b ever asks for help, dont ignore them, but point them in the right direction. This will result in much more happy people. Apple, you have just gained a future customer!! Thank you all!

I have a program I bought a few years ago called Movie Magic Screenwriter and it came on one CD the ability to install on Windows or Mac, before and since that, i havent seen any others that do that but i admit I'm a bit out of touch on most applications out there. Is there already a lot of ones doing that now?

Yes and I didn't even know it when I bought it, but later when at their website i saw they had three versions of it, one for Windows, one for Mac and one that is called hybrid that will work on both. I went and looked at my CD to see if it was and had both, Windows 4-05.4 printed on one side of the hole and Mac 4.05 on the other side. I was glad I have that dual- version and also I think it would be easy to hack it to make it work on linux but I don't know how to do that.

I have a few applications which have both Windows and Mac versions on the same disc. Britannica is one. Most of the heavyweights don't do this though.
This one is basically just a word processor that has been specialized for screenwriting with the tools to make that easy and none of the ones that you wouldn't need for that, except an optional novel format and a few multimedia tools, not much of a heavyweight so it was probably easy for them to make where it would work on both.

although the current problem is that iWork and iLife '06 require OSX 10.3.9 or 10.4.3 or better, but not 10.4.1 (the deadmoo image) and i heard of where to change the version number of a system to install a java update, and i was wondering how would you do that (didnt bookmark it) and if it would work for iLife and iWork.
