Megnus
Just a quick question. When I drag and drop a txt file into the HDA patcher will all be "patched" or will it come "not supported" if they are the wrong ones? Cause I allways get "not supported"
jeffreml
Use STAC9228_0x83847616.zip from Taruga's thread 1st Post So I applied the codec dump and then installed the kexts. Upon reboot, audio works. However, when I reboot the audio does not work anymore. Any suggestions? Thanks for referring me to Taruga's kexts macgirl. ducman
Update: I tried the 1.16 installer and audio out is fine. It claims to recognize the mike, but I haven't tried it yet. Thanks Taruga!! PS I'm using a Badaxe2 mobo... I was able to get my BOXD975XBX2KR-based hack working, fine. Everything works well, even sleep, except for one small problem. After waking from sleep, audio doesn't work until I reboot. I've tried several different AppleHDA.kexts, and tonight I even made a bootable Linux USB drive so I could create a codec dump. I dropped the resulting text file on AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16, and it reported that it successfully patched my AppleHDA.kext. Still the same problem, though: sound works fine until sleep, then doesn't work after waking. BTW: the sound control panel shows "Internal Speakers" as the available output device, before and after sleep, and functions normally, even when sound isn't actually working. I'm guessing the problem has something to do with the fact that System Profiler says "No Built-in Audio." Since EFI doesn't think there's an audio system, it doesn't try to reinitialize it on wake. Does anybody actually have something reported under Audio (built-in) in System Profiler? Do any of you still have working sound after sleep? mrgee
Hi all.. Being a mac newbie Im a little uncertain of the procedure involved in dumping code to the HDA patcher.. I have an Intel D5400XS..which has onboard HD udio using the Sigmatel STAC9247D codec.. I have downloaded the apple HDA patcher v1.16 and also the STAC9247D dump.. I have dragged the text dump onto the 1.16 Patcher Icon.. Is that all I have to do.. Am I meant to receive any kind of notification the the dump was successful.. I asked this because having dumped the text, I still have no audio.. Everything else seems fine, the system profiler seems to recognize onboard audio, but I hear nothing.. Any help..? Thanks.. I solved this problem.. dumb operator error.. I now have learned that you need to drag the codec dump onto the unopened patcher icon.. I was previously opening the patcher and then dragging the codec dump.. Anyway my problem with audio is now solved.. although I have yet to check for mic in capability.. For the moment I am happy to have sound.. I have successfully loaded final cut pro, so I now have a mean edit machine.. Thanks..

stiffie
Hi everybody, Here is the codec dump for Sigmatel 9227 0x83847618 for DELL XPS 420 As far as i tested it, it fully works with HDA Patcher 1.16 but you have to apply the patch each time you reboot. This is quite annoying but everthing works, including Line OUT, Mic & SPDIF It is fully working on 10.5.2 but NOT WORKING on 10.5.3 I hope this will work for all XPS 420 owners See attached file: codec_dump.txt
xajat007
HI I am having STAC9221 Sound Card on my PC (mobo 945GNT) as detected by Ubuntu. When I am trying to use AppleHDAPatcher (tried with v1.1, v1.6 and v1.2) then it is not detecting SPDIF. After patching and rebooting I am getting two options for Line Output Internal Speaker Headphone Whatever I choose I am not able to get sound from any of the ports in any of the configurations. Madhowler
Hey all, I have a 975XBX2, so far a pretty much flawless Kalyway 10.5.2 upgraded to 10.5.3 and all apple updates except 10.5.4 running completely stable, and on a very overclocked board. (E6600 2.4 overclocked to 3.31 comfortably, CPU, Chipset, RAM and VGA all on liquid cooling) The issue I have, is that I have no sound. I've tried the matching and functional codecs for the STAC9274D, and I get to see a "High Definition Audio" device in the output control panel, yet I get no audio from any of my jacks. I've tested various speakers just to be sure, and still no audio. Tried may other codecs and builds to no avail. The only common denominator is that I am using the AppleHDA Patcher 1.20 from Taruga. I can't find 1.16 available for download anywhere, and Taruga's wiki site is down and has been for a while. Anyone know where I can find the 1.16 patcher? I've searched the forums numerous times, and no luck. Any help is appreciated.

DisKnKt
I am also having the same issue with the P-6860 FX. Patched the AppleHDA and the HDAEnabler according to instructions and even used someone else's (thanks admezor) working kexts and i still have no sound. Audio chipset is 92HD71B8X. I have attached a linux dump i did yesterday. I would very much like some help with this issue. Thanks.

sduffman
I have a Dell XPS 400 with DXP051 Motherboard using Sigmatel HD audio (9200 I think). I have queried info in Windows and this is what I have: PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680&SUBSYS_102801A7&REV_1032\4&2E42BC5E&0&0001 Have scoured the forum and gone through each and every post on Sigmatel HD and tried many dumps in the posts using AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 and still no sound. Please help with Audio...I waited a long time to find a usable kext for my ATI 3450 and just recently found a kind soul had posted a file that worked for video. I am really happy with the hackintosh and would love to be able to add sound by enabling my Sigmatel HD. I am using a Kalaway 10.5.2 load that I have updated to 10.5.3. Please help and let me know if there is any other info that I need to give. This is a great resource site, thanks! Here is an update, I ran Ubuntu on my system to get a dump of the sound. Ubuntu sound worked great on my system and I captured a dump of the codec then tried running it in my Hackintosh (10.5.3) using AppleHDAPatcher versions 1.15 up through 1.20 and still no luck getting sound to work. I am including the Ubuntu text dump in this post. UbuntuSound_codec_dump.txt Any help is appreciated!
son
Hi guys, I am running Dell m1210, it seems to be the Sigmatel 9221 A1. After installing the corresponding codec, the sound works, but the problem is that I lost my shut down ability. I tried to remove AppleHDA.kext and the shut down works but no sound Any one has any idea on this problem Many thanks in advance!
