I have a p5k premium running leopard and I am getting poor disk performance with my sata drive on any of the sata ports on the mb. My xbench disk score is around 60 with the random disk test really low at 27. Any help would be very much appreciated.http://db.xbench.com/merge.xhtml?doc1=2622...;setCookie=true

Those Seagate drives stink on OSX. After spending nearly $1k trying different drives over the years, I found exactly the drives that are used in real Mac Pro's (I think). It is a certain kind of maxtor drive. Check out my sig and Xbench score...this drive is WAY faster than my Raptor (probably 30% faster than, at least).

mdg, thx i have 2 seatgate 750s i bought and i have slow disk speeds too, i wonder if i should return them and by maxtors. id really like to have a maxtor 750. is it only your model maxtor thats fast? or do yo think alot would perform well?

p.s. looks like your maxtor is discontinued.. i wonder if this would perform as well? http://shop2.outpost.com/{ulmKggLuVuMMcgF0...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
