This gets me past that error but then I get "Still waiting for root device". Does replacing the kexts break newer chipsets like ICH10/P5QL Pro?

Nope, look for the user of your board. And at this point try Snow Leo.

Anyone tried to patch Snow Leopard Disk or instalation. I'm having trouble with it, firewire kexts and another things, i'm using DSDT .

another fix i found.. this tutorial worked too but if you don`t have some other OS you can try this

on the XxX 10.5.6 osx86 dvd at the instalation customize where u select all the drivers and etc select "OLD ACPI AND API KEXT" and u fix the "using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

now i am having some other trouble.. "still searching for root device" :)

my notebook is a MSI GX701x with MS 1719 ...
