frtommy
Hi to all... Finally I have some time to post. I start from the beginning: Install Iatkos 10.5.5 No mod Kernel. At the end of installation, my X3100 go. My Sound go, but only the internal speaker of notebook. The front plug for the speaker can't choose. I change the apple key because in italian keyboard is ALT. So I change ALT and windows Key. After I installed WIFI with the Broadcom patch from kalyway 10.5.2 and launch the script for activate the Airport. Wifi go. After I installe Installer1 and the HDAenabler.kext for change the audio output. So audio it's ok, internal speker and the front plugin for speaker now can choose and go both. But, Now If I open System Preferences->Keyboard and Mouse, I can't enter in that menu. Loading forever, and I can't enter to edit some keyboard keys. After I install the Broadcom 5787M for the LAN. LAN go, but If i try to use the script the LAN go only at first reboot. In the second reboot LAN doesn't work anymore, so I open terminal and wrote the right line for start again the LAN. For the moment I don't upgrade to 10.5.6. Anyone upgrade it succefful?? Thanx to pixule and thanx to all. See you later... Byeee...

Guest oleg.kulakov
2 Jogann Extensa 5220 has a GL960 chipset. By now it has some kind of compatibility problem while working with 4Gb of RAM installed. Though, I guess there is a way to make it work stable. Right now I'm reading Intel datasheets in case there is smth useful. Кстати, если я правильно понял, ты из Казахстана?

sinclair
Yestarday i have successfuly installed 10.5.6 leo on my 5220 my specs are: 1.7GHz 1GB DDR2 RAM X3100 120GB AHCI SATA i've used: iAtkos v5 10.5.5 Stock Kernel (not chosen) EFI v9 x86 ACPI EFI for X3100 and GMA 950 boadcom wificard SMBIOS enablers for MB Air Intel AHCI SATA etc/ask after install (which btw was the 9th one, i've failed 8 times ;p) i've updated to 10.5.6 with security update and latest updates up to date with no problems at all. One thing i had to do is to install custom kexts for the X3100 gfx card because without them i ended up with broken screen. I didnt delete appleintelcpupowermenagement.kext and didnt mess up with anything before the 10.5.6 update. I've just updated like a real mac, using software update. What works: Wifi (out of the box) X3100 (with kexts from this forum) QE/CI on Sound (without mic/headphones i/o, only internal speakers) battlery indicator laptop indentified as MacBook Air no problems with keyboard/trackpad no problems with USB What doesnt work: card reader ( i dont need it) LAN (i dont really need it too) Mic/headphoes jacks Ilife 09 works like a charm, same is safari 4 (two reasons why i even bother with 10.5.6)

Ultimate Guitarist
I have bought an Acer Extensa 5220, and have installed iATKOS 5 (10.5.5) It is the Acer Extensa 5220 - 100508Mi Audio works, Battery works, Shutdown/Restart/Sleep work fine, but the main really annoying problems are: WLAN - Doesn't Work (Atheros AR5BXB63) LAN - Doesn't work, Not sure on the driver name Anyone got any solutions to get the WLAN working? Edit: I have used DPCI Manager, and it says my Atheros card is actually AR5006EG It is displayed like so: 168c:001c Atheros Communications AR5006EG 802.11 b/g Wireless PCI Express Adapter
Allnutz
Bought ACER 5220 for my syster for abirthday present in December 08. I was suppouse to install OS X on this right away but didn´t really have time to do it. Anyways yesterday i packed my external HDs and my laptop and went to my mom´s and dad´s to get it done. I installed a Retail OS X 10.5.1 from retail DVD with Combo Update 10.5.6 straigth on to the laptops internal sata drive by removing my Lacie External USB´s HD and replacing it with 5220´s HD. I added the needed kexts and put the HD back into the 5220. I changed the laptop to ACHI mode and it booted straight on to the welcome screen. The keyboard and trackpad didn´t work so i had to use usb keyboard and usb mouse to create the user profile. X3100 fully worked out the box. I had bought a bluetooth mini dongle to the machine and it was working "out the box". Well Wifi wasn´t and neither was LAN or Sound for that matter. Sleep/restart/Shutdown worked fine. I Installed trackpad and keyboard by adding kexts ACPIPS2Nub.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext and got the powermanagement working by overwriting PowerManagement.bundle with another that i got from somewhere here in the Insanely Mac Forum (ill add the kexts and details later) I managed to get the Broadcom 4312a to be seen by editing IO80211Family.kext´s AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext´s info.plist <string>pci14e4,4313</string> added this between 4313 and 4318>>>>> <string>pci14e4,4315</string> <string>pci14e4,4318</string> My broadcom wifi 4312 read in the front side of the adapter that the model is 4324A and under it read to be 4312. Found out that actually the device id is 4315!!! Well i got wifi working. I got the sound working with taruga 268installer and before rebooting i added AppleHDA.kext with kexthelper. I got twiofinger scroll to work by installing the ALPS scroll thingy and copying FFScrollDeamon directory to Library/Startupitems/. I also edited the trackpad.plist that came with the trackpadfilesbundle. I was abit confused that there already was FFScroll folder in the Startuypitems. Well copying made it work on every boot up. Now my syster has Adobe CS3 creative suite, iWork08 and Logic 8.0.2 installed. Theres also an external 19" LCD monitor hooked up to this. Everything works like a charm. Only real complaint is that the wifi doesnt work after sleep and the keyboard dont work correctly sometimes after sleep. FIX the keyboard issue : apparently if i wake the computer with option key (WINDOWS key) this problem goes away. If not then press option and click the desktop with both mouse buttons... hmm Tried to get the cardreader working for several hour without luck even though i got all the pcmcia and cardbuis to be seen in the system profiler. There might be a solution jsut around the corner. No i gotta get sleep . later ill test the 5758M broadcom and will post all the links and files here... -Allnutz
Api
FYI, updated successfully to 10.5.7 following netkas' old tutorial from february 2008. After updating, I just ran "ALC 268 fix" to get back audio and the "AboutThisMac"-installer the right infos. That's all... ...but I haven't tested the whole updated system, so be careful

pixule
HELLO.After almost 3 years of windows 7( first win7 beta=love) I'm back to hackintosh with my only old and reliable Extensa 5220 ( Intel Celeron 530 1.73 Ghz oc. to 2.13 Ghz hardware overclock!, 1.5G ddr2 ram, 80 Gb hdd, Intel x3100). Now i'm running Iatkos V7 10.5.7 Vanilla kernel update from Apple to 10.5.8. I've tried a few times to install iatkos s3 v2 -10.6.2, but after the videocard was not recognized properly, no sleep, or shutdown possible, and after 2-3 restarts..kernel panic, and i tried about 10 installs, with different intel x3100 drivers, including natit, efi enabler, etc. If someoane is running snow leopard, pls tell me what driver are u using for the videocard.thanks.
