could someone post a step-by-step guide on how to do it?

What I understand so far:

download new OpenGL.framework, geforce_1052_kext.zip

copy OpenGL.framework into /System/Library/Frameworks

copy kexts into /System/Library/Extensions

open terminal:

sudo -s <press enter>

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/firstkext.kext <press enter>

chown -R root:wheel /Sytem/Library/Extensions/firstkext.kext <press enter>

(repeat for all kexts you added)

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext <press enter>

reboot <press enter>

so is that correct? did I miss anything? do you have to chmod and chown OpenGL.framework also?

Well first you need to download the files posted in this topic, one contains the kexts, and the other is the OpenGL Framework. The kexts go System/Library/Extensions, it will probably ask you for your password and will ask you if you want to replace the current ones in there, do both.

Then for the OpenGL Framework, Go to System/Library/, and find the OpenGL Framework, delete it (or back it up in case it brutally fails) and place the new folder (called OpenGL Framework, the one you downloaded) and put it there. Then Open Disk Utility and repair permissions. You'll probably get a bunch of errors when you put in all the files, just ignore then (click okay for them).

Then reboot, oh and make sure you have NVinject 0.17. That's pretty much how I got mine working. Oh and my card is an 8600M GT with 512MB, I didn't flash the rom or anything, pretty much stock.

I do all what u say but when rebooting from repairing permisions i get a message that says "System extension can not be used" Nvinject was installed improperly and cannot be used....

is a disk utility issue or what do you suggest?

Thanks in advance

Do this...

open terminal:

sudo -s <press enter>

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext <press enter>

chown -R root:wheel /Sytem/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext <press enter>

Then reboot. Disk Utility seems to ignore that file for some reason...

it's simple

use kexthelper

drag%drop folder opengl.framework to /libraries (replace the old)

drag&drop all the 10.5.2 kexts to kexthelper and install

install the nvinject and use the 512mb version (no full install only the 40kb kext)

and reboot

noway kernel panic if u use 10.5.1 even without vanilla kernel

right now i removed nvinject and install it with natit!

for somereason is faster ,i'm gonna test more

can somebody else download xbench and run the "user interface test" ?

with nvinject it was about 150 and now with natit is 400 !

also difference in other tests (opengl etc)

big difference in osx movement (windows, genie ..)

and at last at premiere before with nvinject i put 8 videos in the scene play together

it was laggy

now with natit there is no lag ,i even put blur effect in all the videos!

bye bye xp (i also downloaded the updates from apple)

only problem for now...final cut won't start but i'll fix it

Yeah, I gotta upgrade to Leo as well (currently in the process). I hope there's no conflict with the AMD patches (assuming I still need them), cause that would really be a problem. I'll give it a go with these kexts just to make sure, before the final comes out.
