wickedneuron
What about for an Athlon 64 3700 on a gigabyte nforce 3 board with the onboard Marvell Yukon 88E8001? The onboard ethernet is my only problem right now.
the_dingman
What about for an Athlon 64 3700 on a gigabyte nforce 3 board with the onboard Marvell Yukon 88E8001? The onboard ethernet is my only problem right now. I gave up on my onboard ethernet and salvaged an old NIC from an old PII system I had, it was a 3com card with an intel chip, works great. dkelley
um - just a note, I used maxxuss patches for everything and they all worked perfectly on my sse3 p4 478 915 system and my dell pentium m 1.6 ghz sse2 laptop (using the appropriate patches obviously). Since they worked perfectly the first time I have to recommend them. And keep in mind - Maxxuss is the guy who actually WROTE THE CODE IN ALL OF THE PATCHES. The other versions are repacked differently and may offer different installation options. Possibly they're easier to use for you, however they are all the same code in the end. Just to give credit where credit is due, and to point out that one person's opinion of which patches are best isn't necessarily true for other people. Read up on all the patches and make sure you know how to use them before installation. They all can install options that may be good or bad for different systems, and in the case of Maxxuss he has different patches for each system's specs. Download the right patch and it works perfectly. Just run cpuz on your pc, check it's specs against maxxuss' home page, and get the latest/greatest patch. Worked for me and I use my OSX hackintoshes 24/7. dkelley

miguelcerca
yo JaS, i've been using your patch for quite some time now and it's working perfectly. my only question is how to change the mach_kernel, i have a sse3, nx/xd processor, i think the your patch uses sse3 emulation and no nx/xd, right? but i can't find a forum thread anywhere that gives instructions on how to replace the mach_kernel thanks for the great work
Technobob
To verify if the kernel is patched correctly open terminal and cd to the directory where your newly patched kernel is located. Then type this "strings -a /mach_kernel.org | grep -i maxxuss" no quotes Here's how to change your kernel, To change your kernel boot into single user mode at boot hit F8 then when prompted for input type -s then press enter, and it will go into single user mode. mount /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/(name of your volume) ls /Volumes (if you don't know the name) cd /Volumes/(name of your volume) cp mach_kernel mach_kernel.old cp mach_kernel.orig mach_kernel then type reboot
