I played around with 10.4.4 on an iMac core duo today and wow, that thing is fast! I started up activity monitor and surfed around with safari, which, by the way, is a dog. The Intel chip wasn't breaking a sweat. In fact, both cores stayed pretty much at one of those little bars (on the cpu monitor). For anyone who thinks this release isn't much different than the 8f1111, I say you're wrong. It is very well optimized. That makes sense, because in software development, you get your feature set down, debug, and then, after all that, you then go for performance, turn on compiler optimzation features, etc. I compared it to one of the new quad powermacs, and the powermac was just as fast, but the cpus were working a little bit harder. The core duo's integer performance is likely what makes it so fast. The core duo has better integer performance than the PowerPC970MP

I agree totally ;).
I have not previously tried any other mac but my iMac Core Duo is very fast and works like a charm (except a problem with the wifi connection) :-).
