Just thought I'd share this with all of my dear fellows here in the forum.

I was reading "a" magazine and one of the article was talking about installing window vista on iMacs...

The author talks... and talks... and talks all the good thing about OSX while comparing OSX and Windows vista...

At the end of the article.. he basically said...

"Look, how great iMac hardware is, that you can easily install Microsoft Windows on; on the other hand, not all the PC can handle OSX."

Well, maybe... Windows is better written which will accept wider range of hardware and OSX isn't?

So guys.. what's your thought?

Cheers

Yes apple doesn't want run osx on any computer except apple computer to save it's quality (OSX and Hardware).

so,you can try osx on your pc and if you see this OS is good for you buy any apple computer you need.

thanks.:D

Duno about windows being better written, but i do have to agree on the fact that they have a harder job cause the win os has to work for many type os systems. were as Mac OS just has to write it for their systems which they know exactly all about, and know what resources they have available. BUT thats why Mac OS is better system, and if you take it to pc or if apple adapt it will destroy a bit that quality.

thats a pretty dumb statement coming from that author.

PCs suck because you can't install OS X on them? lol thats the programmers "fault".

But I do think OS X is better written. 30 years of open source vs a completely new kernel written by Microsoft.... I pick open source.

I bet OS X could easily be re-programmed to accept a wide range of hardware as Windows does but the point is that Apple doesn't want that. See, Microsoft is a software company. They do make hardware (mice, keyboards, GPS, etc.) but they do not manufacture computers like Apple does. Microsoft just provides the operating system and the big name manfacturers (Dell, HP, etc.) provide the hardware.

But, if MS did have their own PC line from the beginning, they too would have Windows only compatible with their computers. But then no PC manufacturers like Dell would exist. It would only be MS or Apple. But wait, maybe MS or even Apple wouldn't exist if MS didn't license their OS to the PC manufacturers. Ah...nothing better to tangle your brain than thinking about what would happen to the world if MS didn't do what they did :D

it is illogical to say that one OS is better than another based on a wide range of hardware support. (Linux anyone?) All it means is Microsoft can handle a wider array of hardware; it is more like being a jack of all trade and a master of none. Has the author of the article never had a hardware/software conflict with a computer part or upgrade? Apple does have a smaller hardware compatibility list, mainly only the hardware they build. Why would they make their OS work on hardware that they don't build/support? Does Ford make parts for a Chevy?

Come on!!! Mac OS X is written to run on Apple Hardware, that is one of the reasons that make the difference.

Ho also forgot to mention that some of the DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS to make it run on APPLE HARDWARE were written BY APPLE!!!!
