Suzuka
is there any noticable difference between G5 Imacs and the intel ones, like software compatibility problems? or anything
Swad
Well, I assume you're trying to decide between buying one or the other. As far as software issues go, if that's you main concern you should stick with the G5 - it'll be compatible for the life of the machine, while it will be a little bumpy with an Intel mac for the time being. Roman2K
About applications compatibility with Intel processors : I have an iMac Intel and all the applications I have tried to launch whether it was a Universal build or not DID launch and worked well, except VLC (VideoLan player) which worked well the first times but then crashed and did not want to start anymore. Maybe it is a bug of Rosetta ? Anyway I am not an expert in Mac environment but think you can buy an Intel iMac instead of a G5 since it should be more powerful and the few possible bugs of Rosetta should be fixed in the next versions of Mac OS X.
