I have tried to make this NIC work on all types of MacOSX (10.4.x and 10.5.x), but no luck, so far.

I tried with AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext and AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext, but nothing.

Different type of issues. E.g. no MAC address, cable unpluged, etc.

Can someone help me with this, please!!!

My notebook is HP 6710B.

Thanks!!!

hey Ueberleitung,

How did you manage to install Leo on the hp 6710?

I tried with external monitor, but only horizontal lines are all i can see.

With internal does not work.

Do I need to boot from the TOH dvd into save mode, and than remove the x3100 driver?

Cheers

I did try it on the 10.4.8. Uphuck installation - did not install Leopard yet for the reasons you just stated.

Reportedly the X3100 should work with Leopard 10.5.1 - just search the forum for an installation workaround without the X3100 drivers (can't find the thread right now). After installing EFI you should be able to do do the update (presuming you got your network working) and there shouldn't be any problems with the graphics anymore.

When I try ifconfig en0 ether <some mac addr here> and it comes back saying:ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR) network is down.

Than I try ifconfig en0 up and than again ifconfig en0 ether <some mac addr here> , but no luck.

I use the BCM5751 kext. I tried 5701 one but can't get it to load.
