bofors
Darwin 8.4 Source Code Posted The sources for Darwin 8.4, which correspond to Mac OS X 10.4.4 (for PowerPC), are available for download. [Jan 10 2006] http://developer.apple.com/darwin/ Ok, but where is latest x86 Darwin for EFI? The point of this is that Darwin provided an important platform to work on OSx86 analysis last summer when this whole game got started. Apple certainly updated x86 Darwin for the new Macs, so where is it? Once an EFI x86 Darwin is installed, OS X pieces can then be added to it to understand how they work. Moreover, x86 Darwin might actually require the same (or similiar) EFI firmware code that Apple is using in the new Core Duo Macs, which might been released as without it such an EFI x86 Darwin might be useless. miranda363
Apple have stated before that they were not going to develop Darwin for X86 in future versions after 10.4.3 so maybe this is why but I think it odd from a company adopting X86 hardware ????? macgirl
Ok, but where is latest x86 Darwin for EFI? The point of this is that Darwin provided an important platform to work on OSx86 analysis last summer when this whole game got started. Apple certainly updated x86 Darwin for the new Macs, so where is it? The source is posted is only PPC, and PPC Macs do not use EFI, AFAIK.
bofors
When did Apple release x86 Darwin 8.4 (10.4.4)? http://www.opensource.apple.com/darw...ce/10.4.4.x86/
sHARD>>
Doesn't Darwin have some code under licenses which require source release? BSD obviously doesn't (sorta), but I thought they had some other junk in there.
JimBob
Darwin Source is up for 8.4 (OS X 10.4.4) and 8.5 (OS X 10.4.5). http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/ It appears binaries are only released for new whole number versions (i.e. 6.0/7.0/8.0). Has anyone tried compiling source changes up through Darwin 8.5?

Has anyone tried compiling source changes up through Darwin 8.5? The problem is the lack of kexts. They are no longer releaseing those. So I guess the are trying to put the genie back in the bottle.
