Adobe CS3 Crashes After Upgrade to Leopard

So I had everything working (well....not wireless and only one core - everything is relative) within JaS 10.4.8. Including the Adobe CS3 Master. Then I upgrade the drive to Leopard, and now it crashes on me when I start any of the apps.

Is this happening to anyone else? Any fix for this?

new problem. On the ToH install Photoshop CS3 was working fine. when I installed the efi emulator it will not start anymore. I get an error message that real macusers reportedly get:

"could not initialize photoshop because the file is locked"

there is no way to change this under "get info" as suggested on the mac boards. I am afraid of running the recommended commands in single user mode shown here:

http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c0535b9

1. Start up in single user mode (hold Command-S during startup)

2. mount -uw /

3. launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist

4. dscl . append /groups/admin users [shortname]

5. exit

will this break my nicely working system? I tried to replace PS CS3 with the one from the bay (marietto81cs.zip), however that gives the same error. Reinstalling, adding new user as Admin, all the same problem.

any help appreciated. I think the suggestions above only apply to a login as Standard user. Apparently when ppl upgraded from Tiger they were switched from Admin to Standard. I know for a fact that I am logged in as Admin. Somehow the efi and the permission repairs have led to sth weird on PS. everything else is running fine.

at least it's another sign that it runs almost like a real mac, even with its own errors

Thanks for the patch imadosser. I will hopefully give it a try tomorrow (although from what the deceiver says.....it may not work) I'll keep post the results. Are the anticrash files from the same as the ones from imadosser? The demon is no longer around

if you don't see the particular error of a locked file you should be fine.

So I unzipped that file and it was just a replacement for the original photoshop file. Not a kext or anything to fix all of the Adobe CS3 Master.

So now Photoshop works but nothing else :D

Is there a "fix"?

there is a set of new keygens on the bay specifically for leo. just drop your app into the appropriate keygen and they will work. currently the one for Dreamweaver is not working, but the rest are ok (until I installed efi, which hosed PS).

Its not that they are locked....its that when they start up they simply crash pretty much immediately. I don't get to the point where it asks me to authorize. Will this work?

sorry, that's what I meant. they crashed on my system before efi also. I used the new keygens to patch them and they worked.

I had the same issues of all CS3 apps crashing on startup.

After I installed the EFI patch with the included AppleSMBIOS.kext I deleted all the CS3 folders from Applications (after putting my plugins in a safe place), then deleted the 2 Adobe folders from Utilities.

I reinstalled CS3 and entered the Serial number I had...and it all works fine now.

The issue was the AppleSMBIOS.kext. This was the one installed by the ToH RC2 DVD. You might try getting a copy of the SMBIOS file included in the EFI v51 kit and using that.

Yea I do believe it must be your SMBIOS.kext I had the same issues as well. All is working fine now. Can you send you mine if you need be, just PM me.

On a sidenote, I'm trying to get the trial version of Premiere to work with a cdkey but it says this license is expired or whatever? (still waiting on the masters collection to finish, have windows version just not mac) Was curious if anyone was able to make the trial work, forever? I tried the application.sif trick with no avail.

I used the SMBIOS from the latest EFI kit but then was unable to boot up - Leopard booted into a blue screen. Hugely frustrating. The problem might be that I don't use EFI. You say you used the SMBIOS file from the EFI v51 kit? Was this after setting up EFI and a fresh install of Leopard? If not, I might give the SMBIOS in the earlier release a try.

Sorry, this might look stupid, but I have spent A week downloading one big 16.36gb size cs3 file, that did not work well and that file is gone now so don't want to spend another week downloading it again..

Can someone kindly send me a link to a place from where I can quickly download the correct cs3 file, which will work with kalyway 10.5.2, of course will have to fix the installing issues, so I am not asking for the whole guide, just direction to the right file, so I don't waste my time again. The whole point of running osx was to run adobe programs on it. thanks a tonne.
