Rudeboy1982
Hi, I've a 2,16 Macbook with clean installed Leopard. It's really running nice BUT its booting so much slower than Tiger. The time till the blue screen appears (desktop loading) is equal but then it takes 3-5x longer till the desktop is fully loaded! Anyone else having this problem? Are there any ways to slove this problem? Thanks Andy
scj312
Faster than tiger on my iMac G4, the screen that says "Starting Mac OS X" doesnt even appear anymore.
Rudeboy1982
thats really strange. Read this before. A lot of people with c2duo processors complain about slow booting time while others with G4 say it's faster.. Thought it should be the other way Hope 10.5.1 will fix that! KaiNeR
I also have the same mbp with a clean install. I have also noticed it a little slower when getting to the desktop. The Dock and icons seem to appear straight away but then the spinning ball has to do a few spins before i can start playing. I assumed it was time machine as the time machine icon usually appears just after the spinning ball stops. was wondering, do you have time machine enabled ? Soündless
faster with leopard on my 2.33 ghz macbook pro
Rudeboy1982
yes, I've time machine enabled! But for me it's the blue screen that takes very long. When I see the desktop there is no spinning ball and I can work right away. I don't understand why it's faster for some people and slower for others! Perhaps something during installation went wrong and should reinstall?

Rudeboy1982
I tried to.. but don't know where to start searching! Do you think I should look in console under Log Files->System.log or do I have to search every log file? What should I look for? Thanks

InorganicMatter
Same here - blue screen takes a lot longer. The white Apple screen with the spinny wheel is shorter than Tiger was, but waiting for the desktop to load is much longer. I don't mind though, as it's still 2x faster than Vista was. Conroe Mac
Tiger boots faster for me. That's one of the reasons I switched back to Tiger from Leopard.
SpeedfreaK
on my alu imac, leopard is much faster than tiger. the screen: "mac os x is starting up" (or something like that, i don't even remember ) never shows up! it just passes that! but it loads the desktop a bit slower and i think that's because the new icons preview what's in the document and that needs a bit to load i guess. robotskip
Hahah, only would Apple fans make "Oh, no problems for me!" posts several times rather than helping when a guy asks an innocent question. I can't help you mate, but lol, this is funny to read.
