boogieq
I have 10.5 up and running off of an external USB harddrive. (demonoid had an image in the 2.5gig size range that said it was a flat install I believe.... it burnt an image to the external drive and I booted from it, done.) ANYway, running this on a dell monitor that does 1280x1024 but the only res choice I have is 1024x768. Is this a 'no drivers for monitor' issue or video card? It's an Intel GMA3000 I believe (dell optiplex 745) and dell 19" monitor. Any thoughts would be good... I can't find where to manually modify a config to set my resolution and SwitchResX didn't work. jelsey01
I'm having the same problem. I have a ATI x300 128M PCIE and I'm stuck in 1024x768. SwitchresX didn't work for me either. I tried to install an old driver that I used on 10.4.8 and it screwed up my install. Still looking.....
bibendum
You probably don't have CI & QE support either - you need to install the drivers for your cards - either GMA or Natit or the like. That may have come on the disk you used to install your previous version of the OS... Patrick
boogieq
I didn't install a previous version, I went straight to 10.5. I'll keep digging but I didn't find any drivers for 10.5 for the card I have (actually it's the built in vid from the Q965 chipset which IS a gma 3000). bibendum
Good luck - A quick search didn't turn up anything promising... http://www.google.com/search?q=hackintosh+gma3000+support Patrick
boogieq
Funny enough that this thread is the first hit on google. Is there anywhere in Leopard (10.5) like in past versions where I can specify a resolution for it to run in down in some plist file or something? VernGully
I used DisplayConfigX to add the resolution I wanted, 1024x768@75, on my second monitor in Leo. Worked like a champ. Just make sure the resolution is truly supported, it will let you add anything you want. However, resolutions above 1024x768 require a registration.
