Jurryt
Hey there, Since my hackintosh works fine, I just got this problem with an installer. I can Install (and play) Age of Empires 3, CoD2 etc. but when I want to install RTCW it just doesn;t start. It gives an icon popping up in the bar below, but after a few seconds (or sometimes 1 second) it disappears again. Can anyone help me? I'll add a screenshot later today! thanks in advance. Jurryt
OSX 10.4.9 Uphuck. Not sure what you mean with Rosetta. I just can't install. I can open the DMG, I see DATA folder, another folder and the installer (Copy - place with the other games works well, like Adobe package as well) but the installer just doesn't work. Would there be an alternative installere/ or a way to install? thanks
riws
OSX 10.4.9 Uphuck. This little Version of it? ~1,4gb Rosetta is PPC Emulator to run PPC Apps. Download some old PPC Apps from Internet and test, do they run or not
Jurryt
RTCW download is a DMG file. How am I supposed to install in with Rosetta if it is already for mac? Or is the installer PC application? Sorry for the less info, I'm not home atm to make a screenshot

If its a DMG, then it is for Mac, but if Game Installer and Game are compiled for PowerPC Architecture, it wont run without Rosetta. Some Version of uphuck dont have Rosetta. Age of Empires 3, CoD2 are both compiled as Univesal Binary, so they work on PowerPC and Intel Machines

Boah, most of stuff for osx is ppc. Test, its an Application for Panther, so it has to be PPC

Pluto999
Also it is not for the particular discussed case (the icon on the screenshot is for an installer made in Stuffit InstallerMaker) but for installer failures I can also mention that there were many reports (you can google) concerning mysterious failures of old installers (not only games) compiled in MindVision's old InstallerVISE (now replaced with VISE X) on some Macs (mostly Intel Macs) with "BaseInstaller Carbon" error. See here for example: http://www.insidemacgames.com/forum/index....staller+failure Should be due to some incompatibility with with system software installed on particular comps - for example one of the installers which I've compiled in InstallerVISE three years ago (and have tested many times then) have worked recently successfully only on one of three tested Intel Macs.
