I have problem width Sapphire HD2600XT 256MB DDR3. I cant get it bo boot it normaly. (screen goes fuzzy). I allways must start system width "-x" Kexts that worked on 10.4.10 dont work on 10.5. Sound kexts work normaly. Does any one know are there new drivers for HD2600XT for 10.5?

I don't have it but don't use HD2600XT kexts from 10.4.10... I mean it's silly since OpenGL drivers from Tiger won't work in Leo.

This being said, Leo has ATIRadeonX2000.kext ALREADY so just add natit.kext from Tiger to Leo and you'll be set (but keep ORIGINAL LEO drivers).

Have a nice day !

I manage to solve problem. (Someone on irc.osx86.hu #radeonhd helped me)

For all that use HD2600XT or PRO here is solution.

1. boot 10.5 width "-x"

2. Download latest Natit.kext and Radeon HD2600PRO package (from IRC)

3. Replace Natit.kext & ATINDRV.kext

4. edit Info.plist in ATIRadeonX2000.kext (delete all Dev ID except for XT - 0x95881002, for PRO - 0x95891002)

reboot

Everything should work fine now

Thanks Netkas, I followed this. But LoginWindow crash.

To resume situation,

It is a multiboot machine: Ubuntu, Vista, Tiger (Osx86), Leo (Vanilla & pc_efi).

I have installed Leo from Tiger from Tiger with pacifist.

Launch efi V4 from grub.

Everything was working fine.

I was using an old Matrox PCI card in Vesa mode.

I have switched for a PowerColor HD 2600 XT. Booted only with -x was working.

I installed all packages from irc, reset permissions, clear cache reboot.

On regular boot: LoginWindow crash during boot.

Boot with -v -x: "Package 0 didn't get an HPET" loop, some mDNSResponder message and nothing more.

I have tryied with and without AppleSMBIOS from EFI package ... no change. ;)

Any idea ?

it only work with DVI-VGA connector and monitor connected throw vga cable.
Is this trouble only with HD2600 drivers or it's all drivers and videocards trouble?Hm ((( ok, where I can get some solution for HDMI>DVI connecting?Soon, I'm going to buy 8800GT. Does it work by HDMI>DVI connecting?Tnx.

I got this working by:

All the boot-ups, whether off DVD or installed OSX, needed -x to boot into safe mode on my system otherwise I couldn't see the screen (snowy gibberish).

After installation, -x isn't needed of course since it's hopefully working.

1) Prepare the drive using Kalyway's "Make Bootable Leopard Partition" and shut down.

2) Install OSX using BrazilMac's patched DVD.

3) Reboot using DVD again, patch files using PostPatcher off USB through Terminal (files included in BrazilMac's torrent)

4) Once in OSX (loading from hard disk, but still in -x safe mode) run the radeon_hd_2600_2900 install program in OSX.

5) Reboot and it works! But only if you get a DVI to VGA converter! (either a DVI/VGA converter, then normal VGA to VGA, or a cable like mine that is DVI one end and VGA the other.)

I don't know why DVI doesn't work it just doesn't.

Good luck.

Diz

You are right my friend, i just found this last night, the problem is: i connect both of my cable VGA with DVI converter and DVI in the same time, thats why it's dos not work, when i disconnect only the DVI cable it's just work great and fully support QE&CI and ROTATION, but i also change the HYPOPRION word to FRANKLIN in the Natit.kext info.plist

and right now i just want to make my Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 detectable in System Profiler and also to make my sound ALC889a to work.

Thank's to every one in this forum and BIG THANK'S to Netkas who made this driver works with fully support.

I have a few questions for you. Being new to terminal and sudo commands, can you tell us what exactly to type to "replace natit.kext & atindrv.kext?" I think this would greatly help both myself and others. If you can spare the time and effort, a step-by-step would really be appreciated.

Secondly, is natit.kext and the Radeon HD2600PRO package available anywhere else, somewhere easy to download perhaps?

Unfortunately, :( this does not work. I reinstall Leopard To boot in safe mode. Then install Triakis_2400_2600_2900_3800 . Info.plist corrected through KismusHackintoshTools , as has been unable to customize access. Then reboot. And again - the video card is detected and then immediately switched off the screen. The same in safe mode. But I hear that booting performed. And then it can be turned off by clicking Power off and Enter!! What can I do???

I tried to connect monitor throw vga cabel, but useless.

OK, so I downloaded the new Triakis from irc.osx86.hu #RadeonHD. Installed it and rebooted. Screen came up fine with full 1920x1200 res (24" LCD) QE/CI and looked great EXCEPT every menu comes up blank. Pretty hard to navigate that way!

I really thought the HD 2600 Pro card would work since the new iMacs use the same card. Mine is 512 megs, the iMacs are all 256 megs. Is that the problem?

So now I'm back to VESA 1400 x 1050 and blurry. :(

same problem, i asked on the irc and there is no solution yet, the response was to stick to the dvi2vga adapter. Besides the white menus i had some horizontal pixel-wide strikes randomly appear on the screen. Weird !
