Miro30
Hello, I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3R, Intel Q6600 (2.4, B3 Version, not GO), 2 gigs 800 mhz, and I don't have the go stepping processor. How much can I overclock with this processor using an aftermarket air cpu fan? Any help would be great! Thanks again, Miro30

I have a 7950 GT card with 2 gigs of ram and it runs great, I'm running FCP6 and wanted the most out of my processor. Thanks again, Miro30
bolott
3.6Ghz on abit ip35 1.4vcore 400x9
3phemeral
3.6Ghz on abit ip351.4vcore 400x9 that's gotta be G0 stepping... If you get a good air cooling setup i think you could hit about 3.0-3.2GHz. More if you're lucky. Monitor those temps
nagal
3.6Ghz on abit ip351.4vcore 400x9 Post some more info on your system as that is pretty amazing OC. What kind of stability tests have you done or was this just a one-shot thing?

bonestonne
you'll need a Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme, not the regular model for this, and some really good fans, like Scythe S-Flex Slipstreams. to overclock on air with a B3 stepping quad, you need much more than stock cooling to dent the temps. even with the Ultra 120 eXtreme, you'll need to be very careful. what case are you using? what is the ambient temp of the room? all of these are important factors. Nitramusa
I really recommend the Tuniq Tower
bonestonne
tuniq tower is outperformed by the ultra 120...not to mention the tuniq tower is much heavier. scythe ninja is a good contender as well, i'm using one, but i don't overclock, i wanted it for the extra cooling on my 95W Pentium D, partly because i can keep using it on my next upgrade [C2D]. brooklyn electronic music
$11 for a Freezer Pro 7 at newegg does the job I'd rather do other things with my money. q6600 3.6 stable and cool but i use 3.2 or 3.42 for my everyday, all day computing Gigabyte p35 ds3L

The Ultra Extreme 120 maybe lowers the temps only 2-5 degree... For 20 euro (or dollar) more...For the price Tuniq Tower owns imo.. About weighth, i don't carry my computer every day in my hands He want's to overclock good, i dont think he cares about weight.. My 2 eurocents
