Purple Puppy
You usually need an Apple computer to run Mac OS X, regardless of which version... However, if you use OSX86, which, by the way, is highly illegal, there is a probability of running Mac OS X on it. As of current they have cracked OS X 10.5 Leopard build 9a527 (I think)... Synaesthesia
It won't really work well because the Geforce 8400 isn't supported fully...
jobbby
Another Stu....d question, if you have money to afford a new laptop, why not buy instead a macbook or mac product, dont you think???? have fun supoorting windoze {censored}.
cringemaster
For the money your better off with a macbook pro, but as far as the question goes, youll have to wait and find out unless you have apple stuff.
Adrian Fogge
Eventually, it will most likely work. The biggest thing is that Leopard is not even released yet. We have no guarantees that the kernel is even going to be the same between the current seed and the final release. It is very possible that Apple is keeping something up their sleeves that will again break Hackintoshes. Remember, Apple makes NO money off of them. fixxer
Ooooh. I love my MacBook Pro. No need to worry about kernels being hacked here, nor compatibility. Best part is; it doesn't have a HP-logo
Shimms
I agree, get a mac. The only reason you wouldn't have gotten a mac previously was if you had to use windows for whatever reason, now with the Intel macs its non-issue. Just get a mac, have the benefits of a fully supported, working environment, and use windows if you need to. Hell if you end up hating OS X (as is the argument that you don't want to buy a mac because you might end up hating it), just get rid of OS X entirely and run it as a pure Windows box. Too easy. Shredplayer
well not everybody likes Mac, they just love the OS and im F**ing tired of "Get a Mac thingy".
rathalos
well, one huge edge that mb/mbp have over other manufacturer is that you dont have ugly unsightly stickers like "intel inside", "powered by AMD", "nVidia", "i so ROX" or even the full system specs pasted right over your palm rest.. removing these {censored} can be a pain in the arse sometimes... anyway, few other edges includes good quality of glossy screens (i compared my glossy with my friend's acer and i can say that my friend's acer is a mirror at 100% brightness!!!!), spacious palmrest, sturdy feel of the laptop through genuine use of metal (unlike IBM, stupid fake magnesium alloy COATING over some {censored} plastic). its only few hundred bucks more than that HP laptop you're intending to get.. and you get much more bang for the buck... did i mention too that 8400 GS is a cheapo version of the 8 series? and you're getting ripped for a 15.4" screen with that resolution... do yourself a favor and get a mac... GoodOmens
Yea I agree with others far simpler to get a mac and install 10.5 nativly. You can always use boot camp to install your windows OS should you need it.
