Ayanami
08 October 2007: Big NewsHello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate. Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008. Exciting times, indeed. posted by Trent Reznor at 10:45 AM. www.nin.com
Special-K
YAY!!!! Wait, how are the record shops gonna get the cds? I thought the label does that sort of stuff.
Ayanami
Well, I'm sure that the labels that have his previous works will continue to market and release them, as I'm sure they will sell. Trent seems to be quite partial to Apple computers. His site has always maintained a "Best viewed with Safari" on the home page, and he put out iPhone wallpapers. And all the songs he's put up to download have been in GarageBand format. I'm sure any new stuff will either go up on iTunes or on his own website. Special-K
I always saw 'Best Viewed In Firefox'. And I kinda figured he'd put his songs on iTunes, but I don't like buying albums from iTunes. I feel like I get more for the buck if I get the physical disk. That and I wanna see how cool he makes the next CD, cause the year zero CD was just awesome. Ayanami
I imagine he'll stash the songs all across the net. It'll be up to us to de-cypher the clues and find them. I'm sure there will be stuff in the TV series he's putting together as well.
nev6
well, he may just go to Nothing records... seeing as that's his bag more or less.
Ayanami
I'm kinda amused about the DVD material his label wouldn't release that "Somehow" made it onto The Pirate Bay. Full remastered copies of Broken and Closure w/ Bonus Material. I think he might buy some studio equipment and do some more internet promotion. I don't have anything to play my vhs copy with anymore, haha... cool, thanks for the heads up.

I'm very glad to have been able to download copies of them though. Broken has some amazing vid. quality...I'm excited to get into Closure and see the differnce between the remasterd and my VHS copy. Maybe the label will slap Reznor in the face and release a censored version of Broken. I could see them getting pissed off and doing that.
