Hi.

I always tried to overclock my system in windows XP, but it always ended in a mess, system lock ups, etc.

My computer (Gateway CX2724 Tablet PC) came with:

> Intel Core Duo T2050 1.6 gHz

> 2x 512 DDR2 533 mHz Ram Dual Channel Mode

In windows, CPU Z reports that my CPU has 533 FSB.

I bought a new ram:

> 2x 1024 DDR2 667 mHz Ram. Dual Channel Mode

They work fine, just a little difference.

However, Mac shows that the ram is working at 533, when they should be working at 667.

Is there a way set the processor to 667 as the ram is?

Tried at boot fsb=166 but no effect. 667/4 = 166

Laptop details... Down in my signature.

it depends on the motherboard and the bios.

its been my experience [fwiw] that computer manufacturers

like gateway, dell, etc have bios-es with limited options

as compared to boards directly from motherboard manufacturers

like asus or jetway. but osx is quite Overclocking-friendly ;)

yeah i dont even know of any companys that make their components overclockable. and the ram, are you sure it was the max your computer could handle? it could have been you just bought new ram that your laptop is clocking lower.
