how to add secondary hard disks in mac os ?

 

 

I'm runing OSX 10.4.8 and i cann't work with secondary hard disks :)

 

it's too bad becuse i have 3 hard disks just one of thim already working

 

 

ide :

primary master : 120 GB hard disk already working :D

primary slave : dvd writer already working :D

 

secondary master :120 GB hard disk doesn't work :(

secondary Slave :120 GB hard disk doesn't work :(

 

 

 

 

can anyone help me with this?

On the Foxconn 975X7AB, the bottom IDE port is a JMicron controller, and probably won't work at all in Mac OS. Same would go for the back panel eSATA port, which is run by the same JMicron controller. The one on the front side (primary IDE) where your hard drive & DVD work is the Intel ICH7 IDE channel.

 

Just get some IDE-to-SATA converters for your 2 hard drives that don't work on the bottom IDE port, and that way you can plug them into one of the 4 ICH7 SATA ports. Or you could spend a little more cash and buy Firewire/USB enclosures for the 2 HDD's - I have tested the Firewire ports on the 975X7AB and they work natively.
