I formatted a spare hard drive to HFS+ using Transmac then I successfully installed OSX86 10.4.8 and all works fine as if my PC was a real Mac.

However, if I remove the installation dvd then restart the computer it won't boot, it comes up with something like "please insert boot media" or something like that.

I insert the OSX86 dvd then restart and OSX loads up great and I can then remove the dvd and use as normal.

What could be the issue here or is this normal?

I imagine there is something missing in the system files somewhere or something or maybe I just have the wrong jumper setting on the hard drive?

Any suggestions?

Also, sometimes when I reboot I can't access internet because of the ViaRhine.kext file is invalid, I simply delete and replace then restart then internet is fine but it does become a pain to do this often, is there a way to sort this out so I don't need to keep doing this?

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.
