I wish the apps can be selected for install instead of everything being installed automatically. I know some of the stuff are useful but it feels Im using someone elses computer during the first boot. Where the heck are the apple wallpapers? BJMoose Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Downloaded the Kalyway version from the Demon this morning and just installed it on an SATA drive in my Bad Axe 2 system. Very fast install and boot of system. Appears to be nothing else I need other than the install disk. Installed IONetworkingFamily.kext for FCS2 and Netkas appleSMBIOS.kext for CS3. Also Natit .02 for my 7600GS. I'll test FCS2 and CS3 at a later time. I loaded all the software on the disk and have to admit I'm not familiar with some of it. Interface looks good. Two small problems I have to investigate. All my drives are mounted in Disk Utility and if I do a alt+shift+a and bring up the apps window, I can access all the drives. However they don't appear on the desktop. Don't know what's going on there as that's not happened on any other install so far. Also, About this Mac shows the accurate info, including 4gb of Ram. In system profiler, Hardware shows all the right info even with Netkas loaded, including 4gb of Ram. However, under the memory menu, everything shows empty. This too never happened on any other install. It is only cosmetic so it's no big deal. But if I could solve this and the drives showing on the desktop, this Kalyway version could be the "one disk installs all" that I've been looking for. Any ideas on the above would be appreciated. BJMoose Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 I feel stupid! I didn't realize that by default, viewing drives on the desktop was turned off in Finder>Preferences. Drives all show up fine. A lot of software loads up by default so I thought the problem must lie in an app somewhere. Never had to set drives to be visible on other installations. @donruper: system registry log is fine. I've been using Natit for quite awhile with no problems. I used NVinject after I first flashed my rom and there weren't any problems with it. I just didn't see any difference in performance on my 7600GS from Natit. Sata mode: AHCI ( top most entry in Intergrated peripherals) Sata port 0-3: Enabled Onboard sata/IDE control mode: IDE I also installed using a usb dvd drive. Have not tried with the dvd on the ide port. Connect OSX boot drive on first orange Sata port. Hope that helps. Mine worked at the first try.
