have you tested it with 10.4.3 8f1099 ?

it would be most fast..!

with p5ld2-vm you can boost your p4 (same as mine) over 3,9 ghz

(without any expensive cooler (mine is about 40 €))

for it to be possible dont forget to fix your pci-express speed to 118 Mhz

for some reasons when you oc the Pentium, this motherboard put pci-express bus to 90 Mhz by default and you have a black screen at startup.

i havent made the azalia patch and it work very well, can you tell me more about this +?

why have you aplied this patch ???

best regards

Hi friend !

Thanks for quote !

It seems that the Mac X86 8F1111, wich is a little bit newer than the one you use, doesn't work with the integrated sound card enabled.

In fact, it is sure ;>)) It makes a kernel panic on the boot !

So, you need to disabled it, make your install, the apply the patch. After, you can reboot and enable the soundcard, it will works very nicely (Input and output).

That is the game !

For your special tuning, it seems great. But because I use only the regular fan, wich is furbished with Intel CPU box, I do not want to push to high the frequency.

The boxed fan il very bad, noisely, and I should, like you, buy something better to push up. (Like your Air coolermaster).

Anyway, it's a second machine that I bought specially to play with OS X, and I did not want to spend more ;>))

But according to your Xbench, it is a bargain (123.71 !!!)

Well, now it is time for me to buy a real Imac, the 20" one. Sadely, no more experience :>(

Thanks a lot for your interesting message. All the best for 2006 !

ok !!!!

azalia found and... it's not good ... kernel panic at startup...

i've found on wiki that for this motherboard i must extract the appleaudiohda.kext too !!!

and now it's fully working...

thank's a lot.

ilife 06 is now fully working.

my only doubt is about speed, 8f1111g seem to be less speed than 8f1099...

is it my kernel emulating sse3 ???? i dont need it, i will verify this....

but some pb with imovie (after importin 8f1099 there were artefacts on previzualiz mode...) and now all is ok !!!

8f1111g emulate altivec and with Altivec Fractal Carbon app (under rosetta...) the best score with 8f1099 was 243 Megaflops (no altivec found...), with 8f1111g it jump to 3543 megaflops !!!! (altivec found...) i hope ilife 06 is using it !!!!!

thanks à lot my friend.

quartz 117,69 76,34 !!!!!!!

openGL 143,99 242,02

user inter 164,20 53,63 !!!!!!!

new offers !!!!!!!

want you upgrade your openGL and user interface for free ?

no overclocking needed !!

no more money !!!!

you just need to understand f***ing guys that implement OpenGL from apple !!!!!

i have found on this forum that the new openGL (8f1111g) improve a new synchro-operating routines that are able to REGRESS speed of those opengl and user interfaces....

it's used for making a much good synchro between opengl apps and monitors !!!!

but by typing in terminal this few line : (copy and past)

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver Compositor -dict deferredUpdates 0

type your password and ok

repair permission, reboot open xbench and be happy my friend.

best regards

ps: i have made all tests with ilife 06 and all other and there isn't problems...

Huuuu...

What a boost !

Xbench 1.2 Score: 93.02

Héhé,

Thanks alot for this tips.

I updated my signature ;>))

Late, but...

I found what I did for my audio...Acording to instruction I have founded in french (?)

Sortir AppleHDA.kext du dossier des Extensions et le remplacer par AzaliaAudio. Ouvrir un Terminal, puis tapez:

sudo -s

-> Entrer votre mot de passe

cp -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext /System/Library/Extensions.disabled

cp -R /Users/YOUR USER NAME HERE/Desktop/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext /System/Library/Extensions/

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext

kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions/

-> Redémarrez le système

Voila. Hope you understand, but seems mostly what you did...

it's exactly what i made (c'est exactement ce que j'ai fait !!!)

i use english in this forum to be understood by most guys,

i'm very happy for your xbench score, and in fact, the speed boost work for all apps

that are using OpenGL, it's pretty cool !!

thanks a lot for your research (for my audio pb...)

news : i have bought apple kbd and apple mouse, and for the mouse: ok

for the kbd : in 8f1099 it cannot control sound, and with azalia patch in 8f1111g all is working !!!

cool !!!

thanks a lot my friend

i hope see you next
