djcrazymonkey
Hey guys\gals, My system can't really run OS X natively (nForce 430 chipset, SATA drives), so I was wondering if I could set up a really lightweight Linux or Windows install, and then run a virtualization app to use primarially as the OS. I have a Athlon 64 CPU with hardware virtualization support, and though I know that performance won't be 100%, I want to know if this can be realistically done, what the performance is likely to be, and how I could do it. I know a fair amount about Linux and Windows, and I'm willing to get my hands dirty, if that helps PS. I'm by no way a n00b. I've over 10 years of computer support and programming experience, so I'd like to think this question isn't completely idiotic. System specs: Asus M2NPV-MX Mobo nForce 430 Chipset Geforce 6150 Graphics AMD Athlon 64 3500+ AM2 1GB Dual Channel OCZ RAM 160GB Seagate SATA drive Thanks
