Yeah, that's what I did. I did copy over loginwindow.app from 10.4.9 (You can find the package on the install disk using something like macdrive in windows or however you can access the install disc & you mac hd) but I really don't think it's necessary. But since you got it to boot, you could always give it a shot and if it doesn't make a difference recopy the 10.4.10 login window (Back it up!) back over it.

Oh, you might just want to run (That installer deletes them, but it's a good idea to do after you modify any kext)

sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.* (Extensions.mkext & Extensions.kextcache)

That might solve your network problem

The only thing I need some help with is the callisto install.

I have a dell inspiron 1501 and can't figure it out how to get the PCI device id out to repleace it in CallistoHAL.kext/Contents/Info.plist

I mean I can use text editor or nano but don't know the device id.

My Inspiron 1501 comes with a ATI Radeon Xpress Mobile x1150, if that's the same as yours, you can download my kext.

You can find out your device id by going into device manager in windows. Select your video card, go to properties, and click the details tab. There should be something in a line of text that says DEV_xxxx, where x would be your device id.
Will this guide work for Windows Vista
Sorry mate, I haven't tried.

jacksont123 is right on with everything he said.... if you have the same graphics card as him (and myself for that matter) the kext he posted should work for you! If you are having further problems, please post and I will try to help you out.

Will this guide work for Windows Vista
Absolutely NO!!! Vista has BitLocker Drive Encryption built in which prevents you from accessing the necessary partition properly through VMWare (trust me, it was what I tried first and took me 10 hrs. to figure out). You have to use WinXP. If you want, you can create 3 partitions, install WinXP on the 1st, Mac OSX on the 2nd, and Vista on the 3rd, but I have not (and probably won't) attempt this myself.

Also, if you guys wanna post some screenshots of your setup that would be sweet too!!!

Is it possible in OSX to expand the volume if xp was removed after the OSX install was complete??? Does anyone know the anwser to this???
I don't know about that, but currently my harddrive is setup with 4 partitions. XP, Mac, and 2 from Dell. I tried to expand my mac's partition by using unallocated space from my xp partition and I wasn't able to do that. It seems that I can't resize my mac partition, but I'm not sure why.

I'm not quite sure but I'll tell you what, I would keep the WinXP partition around (it's only 5GB anyways if you followed the guide) as you may need to use VMWare in WinXP to install future updates (as was necessary with 10.4.10), like 10.4.11 perhaps...

I will try this and post back how my triple boot (xp,vista, osx) works out.
Good luck!

P.S. - There are alot of threads in the forums about doing triple boot (and even quad boot w/ linux) so you may want to read up on them first... just my $.02

Also, FYI Everyone: If you install the Audio Update 2007-001, it will break your sound. You will have to re-apply the Sigmatel9200.txt codec dump file to AppleHDA Patcher; upon doing so, the Audio Update 2007-001 will show as an available update again (even though you've already installed it). It's best just to set this one to Ignore Update!

Can everyone post their Device ID's for their ATI cards. I'm wondering if there is a difference between the 1501 Sempron's and the 1501 Turions. I'm looking into what I can do about the QE situation. I can't promise much, but they've leaped the hurdle of the memory issue with these cards with the open-source linux drivers.

Sempron w/ ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 is 5975 as well!
