No....sleep works for me in 10.4.10, so I've been living with the noise. I think it is the three case fans that make the bulk of the noise. What I've done before on a similar case is to add two or three 1N4001 (or similar) silicon power diodes in the + fan lead (solder & shrink-wrap) to drop the 12 volts to around 10 volts...I've found that reduces the noise a lot, without cutting the airflow too drastically. I haven't done it yet because a) it WORKS great now, and the temperature monitoring in OSX doesn't show the CPU...so it will be a difficult to guage the impact of slowing the fans down, I've been sorting out dual boot (Vista & OSX) on my new HP DV9230Us laptop, and c)I'm lazy.
