alloy
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=43829 This thread might help you but there's a typo on the commmands. (colored in red is the typo, I wondered why no one in that thread pointed it, I spent hours on this typo....) rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/ATI* rm -rf /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework rm /System/Libary/Extensions.* mv Desktop/10.4.8-ATI9600Mobility.tar.gz / cd / tar xvfz Desktop/10.4.8-ATI9600Mobility.tar.gz Basically what this code does is to remove all installed Ati related extensions, then install the driver provided on the thread. after installing this you'll be able to get your resolution working but probably with mouse tearing effects. there might also involve some permission problems. I am new to MAC OS x86 too but i spent two days reading through t he forum to find my way out. My recommandation would be to read thourgh guides in the Genius Bar and then ask questions become only then can you know HOW TO ask right questions. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showforum=
