Havner
It always crashes for me with: Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001) Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000004 I'm using tubgirl's 10.4.10. Tried downgrading kernel (System.kext + mach_kernel) to actually compiled one instead of 10.4.10 binary hacked (various versions form 10.4.9 and 10.4.8). Always the same. The rest of iLife 08 (and iWork 08) works fine. Anyone got more luck or could point me to where to look for solution?

Asure
Same issues here. Jas 10.4.8 -> 10.4.10, NforceATA, IDE bootup. Did you leave original ATA driver in also ? Maybe AMD related. Anyone with Intel hardware running this 100% on hackintosh ? Edit: Not 100% same issues, iMovie seems to work ok , did not crash for me. only iDVD craps out when starting. Sometimes i can get it to run if i click on the three buttons 'theme' 'buttons' and 'media'. It's not really useable and still does random crash.. iMovie G4 patched version seems to stablize things in iDVD also. See tpb for the file. ?.. Wierdness!! What do you mean by original ATA? Generic ATA driver? i'm using NForceATA (the one published on berlios) with added pciid for my IDE controller by hand (for PATA part). Didn't try generic cause its too slow. Even if it would work this way (which i doubt, but will give it a shot) this isn't a solution. Maybe AMD related. I'm somehow still loading 'AppleOnboardPCATA' , haven't dared to remove it. Booting from IDE, have 1x 300gb sata in fat32 to allow both Mac and PC easy-access. Snerler
Had that on my AMD too, 10.4.10 Tubgirl one. But I left my computer on for a while and after comming back iMovie began to launch just fine without making any changes. iDvd still does not work perfectly, sometimes it gives that error, sometimes it launches. dsc106
I too am having the same problems with iDVD and iMovie '08. I think iDVD is having issues even on authentic Macs though. I have an AMD Hackintosh running tubgirl 10.4.9 and everything else works for me but these two apps. Is there anyone with an AMD Hackintosh running iMovie '08 successfully? and/or iDVD 08? Anyone get this to work??
reject902
My iMovie works..and has worked on all the different distros of installs ive tried. I just got done Trying Tubgirls SSE3 Test DVD and Jas's 10.4.8 AMD DVD (after patchin both installs to work with my SATA) .. both still have iDVD crashing. So it's def not a distro issue. I'm really starting to think its cus of my hackintosh bein AMD @ DSC106 : Is your GarageBand working? Haven't tried making something more complicated but was able to change instruments in the simple mode.
Snerler
They work on my AMD. If you just try to launch them a few times, eventually both will stop displaying the "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" error. At lest thats what happened to me.

reject902
So...heres my temporary plan for this (until some clever person gets this runin' under AMD)..im dyin to use iDVD 08, so i've decided to perform "lipo" on the app and strip it of all its intel code making it a PowerPC only app.. so, running it under rosetta, which is kinda slow, but bareable, seems to be working out alright...hasn't crashed yet! But i guess i'll take a slow iDVD over a no-iDVD. Here's the code i used to accomplish this: cd /Applications/iDVD.app/Contents/MacOS/ lipo iDVD -remove i386 -output iDVD Haven't tried this on iMovie..but thats only because mine has been working alright and hasn't crashed yet. Im sure it would work out the same.
