Ayanami
WTF?! How do you have iLife 08? Did I miss something?
bassjase
I ordered it from the UK store on Tuesday night, and UPS delivered my copy bright and early today!! YES..... I bought it! GASP!!!! lol
Ayanami
Gah... I guess I hadn't realized it was released...Just thought they were advertising it. I'll wait until it actually comes out with Leo. At least I really hope it does. Otherwise, I'll stick with my Tiger iLife. The only thing I really ever used was Garage Band, and I'm not looking forward to dealing with a dumbed down UI for that. Aeden
Isn't "Magic Garageband" only something they've tacked on? It's still got the UI you're used to for "regular" folk.

organe d'honneur
How did you get to install iLife in the 1st place? On 9a466 (PB 12", 1.33Ghz, 1.25Go RAM), the installer hangs and crashes right in the beginning, after telling me that I won't be able to install iMovie. I've tried everything, permissions, reboot, localizations, but no luck. Has anyone problems installing '08 too?

Steve specifically said that iLife/iWork '08 will "work with leopard when that's released in october" so I wouldn't count on these being bundled... otherwise you could check out the pink palace... hemiola
Hmmmm, I bet it is simply doing a version check of QT upon launch - and finding an inconsistant build number. Anyone more savvy than I know where it is looking for the QT version .... there should be a simple fix to this. *crossing fingers*

DsurioN
What if you trashed the leopard version of quicktime and installed the regular Quicktime 7.2? I believe the version of Quicktime in leopard is older than the one currently released to the public.
DAddYE
Ive the same problem.Any workaround?I can't instal the publilc relase of QT it say to me: there is an early version on the system, but I've delete them!

geodude
i get the same thing but i think it is trying to say that the version of QT we are trying to install is meant for an earier os version (tiger) problem is that i cant find a leopard version of QT and probably wont till leopard is released in october. fix if any had to reside in imovie08 config rather than QT but at this point i may just try and roll back to tiger if i can find a way to do so and wait for fix or final release ~ good luck and sorry that i have no ideas here just wanted you to konw i am in same boat so i think it must be a univeral problem not just you

hemiola
I installed on a Tiger partition ... Two comments... 1. Magic Garageband is a complete joke .... unless you are part of the American Idol watching - Guitar Hero playin scene. As a seasoned musician/teacher - it is a complete joke. 2. the new iMovie is quite weird - as i find it 'inventive' - i, personally, do not like it .... my 6 yr old kid uses it all the time (the previous version) - i use Final Cut ... regardless, we will stick to the previous offering. Armz
Same exact problem here. iMove 08 won't open on Leopard build 466. I did downloaded iMove 06 which offered for free from Apple for iLife 08 users but still have a problem. This trick might work for some of you http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...9&tstart=15 But doesn't work for me. Any idea guys?
steve22
Is there Core Animation (or at least Image Kit) in iPhoto? Does it run smoother on Leopard? ~Matt
qwertyu
Has anyone tried the new iMovie with 9A499? Maybe its just a 466 problem.
Doosje
Is there Core Animation (or at least Image Kit) in iPhoto? Does it run smoother on Leopard? When i'd open a photo (8MP 4.2MB) then i crop and zoom ...it's horrible. My CPU's (macbookpro c2d) goes to 100% cpu .. and even every once a while it suddenly quits without errors If i can test anything else .. drop me a line
Armz
I'm ruinning 499A, yet can't open iMove 08 (Kenel panic) and iDVD 08 (Quit after launch). Moreover I can't export movie via Quicktime, got the qtKtErrorCatchAll error ! Maybe the problem of Core animation & Leopard build 499A
