JaS OSX86 10.4.8 install disk does NOT detect Harddrive

Anybody know a fix for this? I am trying to dual boot it with Vista. I made a new 28GB partition for OSX, and everything seemed to be going well, I set the new partition to active, put in the OSX install disk and rebooted, went good, booted installation. Select language, welcome, and then select destination volume to install the JASOS 10.4.8 Software, and there is nothing there! I then went to disk utility, and the only thing displayed there was my DVD drive. I so far have been unable to find a fix, possibly somebody could help me out?

first of all you need to give more nfo.

Is your hdd SATA ? (most likely). Depending on the chipset of the controller there are ways to insert your deviceid in the viaata.kext under sata controller.

good luck to you, hope i guessed right.

I did not partition with disk utility because my HDD isnt listed there either. It only shows my DVD drive. The only fix that Ive found so far that I am about to try is

open a terminal and repartitioned and recreated the MBR on the drive with:

fdisk -a boothfs -i /dev/rdisk0

but other than that what can I try?

and

i have a new-on-market amd laptop with one sata 80gb HDD,

all the normal dual/triple/quad boot guide cant detect my sata HDD,

but now using vista(on 1st ntfs partition)+vmware(choose windows nt as guest os)+jas10.4.8dvd(no need alcohol120%/daemontools),

i got past "select destination volume" screen after erasing my 3rd&last partition with the utilites>disk utility.

i can post some unimportant stuff if the above 2 threads are not enough.
