Got mine x1300 mobility (Acer 5100) full working on 10.5.8, QE/CI, no mouse tearing, all smooth and fast.

1.  Install natit.kext with no plist editing (search for Natit_ATIauto.kext.zip). It will make some changes somewhere - don't know exactly, this step is unavoidable. You get black screen.

2. Restart with -s -l, remove natit.kext. Get system loadable.

3. Edit ATIRadeonX1000.kext: search for IOPCMATCH section, add your DevID. Clear cache, reboot.

4. You get QE/CI with 1024x768 and mouse tearing.

5. Install RadeonHD.kext for Leo 10.5 (search for RadeonHD10.5.kext.zip).

6. I've got mine hangs at this point. Reboot with -s -l, type exit when prompted - you'll bot in safe mode.

7. Clear cache, restore permissions with osx86tool.

You get full qe/ci and all resolutions support.

Regards,

Arky.
