Does Vmware Install depends on host hardware?

I'm trying to install Mac OS x 10.4.9 (uphuck v1.3) in my Vmware Server 1.0.2, but no luck.

Here is my configuration file:

config.version = "8"
virtualHW.version = "4"
scsi0.present = "FALSE"
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic"
memsize = "512"
ide0:0.present = "TRUE"
ide0:0.fileName = "FreeBSD.vmdk"
ide1:0.present = "TRUE"
ide1:0.fileName = "L:"
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"
floppy0.present = "FALSE"
Ethernet0.present = "TRUE"
Ethernet0.connectionType = "hostonly"
displayName = "Mac OS X"
guestOS = "freebsd"
priority.grabbed = "normal"
priority.ungrabbed = "normal"

workingDir = "."
paevm="true"

ide0:0.redo = ""
ethernet0.addressType = "generated"
uuid.location = "56 4d c2 65 77 e8 84 f3-62 0e ea 1c fa e3 a8 ea"
uuid.bios = "56 4d c2 65 77 e8 84 f3-62 0e ea 1c fa e3 a8 ea"
ethernet0.generatedAddress = "00:0c:29:e3:a8:ea"
ethernet0.generatedAddressOffset = "0"

It installs succesfully, but don't boot. Using Universal Kernel-3, it shows kernel panic (You need to restart...in 4 languages), using Intel SSE3-1, it restarts again and again automatically after install...

My question is, does Vmware install depends on host hardware (like Processor, Motherboard, AGP, SoundCard)?

If no, that is, if Vmware act as a totally independent system, there should be an unique way to install Mac. Then, everybody will need the same kernel, same patches, same drivers.

If anybody succeed installing Mac OS x 10.4.9 (uphuck v1.3) in my Vmware, please let me know which kernel, Patches, Drivers you used.

As far as I know, the only host hardware VMware depends on is your CPU, RAM, and maybe the video card (?). Most hardware is virtual hardware that VMware emulates. Another Uphuck problem eh? It seems that lots of the Uphuck images nowadays have something wrong with them.....I use JaS for my installs. Ah JaS....Nice and reliable. I only encountered one error during my JaS 10.4.8 install and it turned out to be with my version of VMware, not the ISO. Upgrading from VMware Workstation 5.5 to version 6 solved that problem.

Good luck
