I got good knowledges thanks to this koolkal` patch.

Above all, see sources, please, and this post was mostly wiritten for sse2.

After trying Titan.kext, GeForce*, NVDA* on 10.4.6jas, I didn`t have additional works,

but CI & QE appeared and appear on 10.4.8 & 10.4.9 & 10.4.10.

Caution: This update borked my 10.4.9 setup.

When I first installed it, all I got was the blue screen.

In Single User Mode I then reinstalled my old ATI drivers (1950XT), and was able to boot into the GUI. I then reinstalled JCool's patch, rebooted, and it worked. I updated my audio drivers too, and upon rebooting, it worked. 10.4.10! iTunes recognized my iPhone! Sweet.

Then I needed to reboot into Vista for some reason, and upon rebooting into 10.4.10, it stopped working. Got to the blue screen and no further, just like in the initial koolkal installation.

So I attempted to reinstall the old ATI drivers again (it worked last time, right?) and wasn't able to. Somehow something got really screwed up and the hard drive was locked in read-only mode. I tried to fsck but unfortunately no go. Not sure what to do next other than weep my way back to 10.4.9.

Thank you for that Kaly! I'm not sure I went about this the right way but for others and my own peace of mind, perhaps you could comment on what I did here. :D

I went into the backup folder (via Vista and macdrive) and copied my old acpicputhrottle. I then went to my extensions folder and moved the acpicputhrottle folder from there to another drive, then pasted my old backup acpicputhrottle into said extensions folder. I then booted os x into safe mode and repaired disk permissions, then rebooted os x and -

I got a message after bootup saying '/System/Library/Exensions CPICPUThrottle.kex' was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.

I remembered that a moth ago I had installed DCPUManager. I went to my Applications folder and ran the script RemoveACPICPUThrottle.command. Having done that, I took the backup of the newer acpicputhrottle, put it in the extensions folder, verified disk permissions and rebooted. The reboot was a little slow and things slow to appear on screen - but no error messages. Reboot was faster the next time, though things are still a bit slower to appear on the screen.

Did I do right?

About this mac shows 10.4.10, the correct processor and memory. Nice!

EDIT The laptop feels quite hot, more so than usual. A moth ago I updated the bios and noticed the fan was working a lot harder, which is why I then downloaded DCPUManager.

For me, i used transmac (software for windose that can read/write HFS+) and replace the old kernel back. Usually for kernel, don't need repair permission, at least it works for me. If you encounter error msg like permission invalid. Then you boot your osx86 dvd and go diskutility to repair permission. Btw, you can use macdrive as well. I prefer transmac instead :)

Upgraded my uphuck 1.3 system (10.4.9) on my B130 (sse2/gma900).

Got a problem with ACPI, kernel panic... haven't looked into it yet

Kamikaze, I have the same system... Dell Inspiron 1300 (European name I guess) with 10.4.8 installed, working almost perfectly (no sleep, minor issues). I am planing to update to 10.4.10 too, so please post your progress here, I`m very interested!

Now THAT is a suggestion easy to understand, hehe, thanks! I don`t need the iPhone-support anyway. But having USB-webcams (10.4.9) working would be a great addition for me, so:

uphuck 10.4.9 works great on a 1300

...I have to admit I always thought because the CPU is SSE2 only I could not use 10.4.9 at all! Which components (kernel, patches, ...) you used, if I may ask?

Thanks for your help,

Dr. C

A dumb question, starting with jas 10.4.8, installing inside the 10.4.7 server from the dvd, with the 10.4.7 working fine, update with the automatic updater to 10.4.10 server...and finally and without reboot, install this patch...(koolkal 10.4.10)..can anyone give me a little hope ?

Hello all... I tried the koolkal 10.4.10 SS3 update on my Optiplex GX620 with Pentium D processor and 10.4.8. Installation was smooth, but panics all over the place on reboot.

For those in the same situation who want to go back it's pretty simple thanks to koolkal's backing up of the kernel and kexts. If you have a dual booting system you can copy your drivers back into your extnsions folder delete the new kernel and rename the backup "old" to the proper kernel name. If you are like me and run OSX exclusivly... boot from your original install DVD, launch the terminal, and do it from the command prompt.

well with uphuck 1.4i you don't really have the choice now, but just in case: Universal kernel ss2+ss3, you also need HDA patcher for the sound (with the correct patch for sigmatel). the other options should be straighforward.

GMA 900 works with two wires in the dongle, but I sometimes get kind of funcky blue screens. It's not the "blue screen" issue like the one discussed in many other forum topics. It happens 3/10 when osx boots, the screen goes crazy... like if one of the gma registers wasn't correctly initialized. OSX actually seems to work in the background as things kind of move when you use the mouse. Anyway, a hard reboot usually fixes the issue.

and regarding USB cams, don't think osx will recognize all usb cams. It only recognizes a few. and especially not mine !

also, sleep doesn't work and the battery goes twice faster than on XP. SpeedStep and ACPI drivers missing I guess.

ah, okay! I still don`t have 1.4i downloaded, think this may take a while since there are not so much people sharing it. I`ll skip 1.3 then and wait. Sound/LAN/WLAN will be not a problem if the procedure is the same as in 10.4.8.

GMA 900 works with two wires in the dongle, but I sometimes get kind of funcky blue screens. It's not the "blue screen" issue like the one discussed in many other forum topics. Now that sounds bad - do you have QE/CI activated? Any GMA900 patches installed?

and regarding USB cams, don't think osx will recognize all usb cams. It only recognizes a few. and especially not mine !

Thats right! I have a nice little white Microsoft webcam here, which definately works with 10.4.9 (tested on a real mac). Lucky me I guess.

also, sleep doesn't work and the battery goes twice faster than on XP. SpeedStep and ACPI drivers missing I guess.

Having sleep would be very nice, but I guess this will never really work on the 1300. Regarding the battery consumption, well, that is just one bad thing with running osx on a non-apple hardware.

Again, thank you for your answers, it really helped me out.
