When I finaly finished fixing my Hackintosh I was pretty sad about the fact that the brand new Creative Suite 3 didn't work on it. But now i found a solution on the Spanish OSX86 Forum.

After a little bit translation and help by google I finaly fixed it and all CS3 applications were working fine ^_^

So i thought i should translate it into english and post it here because your how to's helped me very well in the past. So let's get started.

First of all you'll need a new AppleSMBIOS.kext, I attached my version which works pretty well ;)

As a first step you'll have to copy the File AppleSMBIOS.kext into /System/Library/Extensions/ he will tell you that the file can't be modified so you'll have to identifiy as a root user. On the question if you want to replace the old file with a never one you click on YES.

after that you'll have to execute the following commands in the shell as a root user. just switch to root user with su or just execute every command with sudo in front. If you wana set your root password you can use : sudo passwd root

then type your users password and after that type your new root password.

Commands to Execute in Shell

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext

rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

After that you'll have to reboot your hackintosh and all youre cs3 applications should run fine.

I hope I could help you ;)

You have to be careful with statements like this. Did you mean "I attached the version that I'm using" or "I attached the version that I made"? You have to be clearer about these things, people can get very hostile if they find you've taken someone else's work...

Also, you don't need the "new" kext, the working one is the "old" one. Hence problems w/ loginwindow.app

with this new applesmbios.kext, i can get the CS apps running, but it takes more than half minutes to see the program, and takes another 10 seconds for me to click anything. then, under "about this mac", my Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 stated as 4GHZ??? why??
