asap18
Got mine to 3.31 ghz 471x4 FSB
sarahbau
Got mine to 3.31 ghz 471x4 FSB Do you mean 471x7? I got my boyfriend's 6320 from 1.86GHz up to 3GHz, but his RAM prevents it from going any higher. I already had to reduce the memory multiplier from 3x to 2x (FSB is 433MHz). I couldn't get it to boot with the memory over 900MHz (366 FSB with memory at 2.5x wouldn't boot, and the CPU was only at 2.56GHz at that setting). reghost
WOW, MAN YOU GUYS HAVE GOTTEN YOUR CORE2DUO'S UP THERE!!! I HAVE ALMOST GIVEN UP WITH MESSING WITH MY 6600 SYSTEM UNTIL I BUY SOME BETTER RAM(1066) IM JUST HAVING FUN NOW WITH MY E4300(THE TEST DUMMY). ACTUALLY MY HIGHEST SCORE NOW IS ABOUT 154. SOMETHING AFTER DISABLING BEAM SYNC AND OPTIMIZING WITH ONYX. I CANT IMAGINE TAKING MY FSB UP TO 471, THATS INSANE, BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!! RIGHT NOW I HAVE AN ASUS ARTIC SOMETHING OR OTHER CPU COOLER THAT SEEMS TO BE DOING THE JOB. CURRENTLY I HAVE 2GB(4X512) PC 4200 RAM ON THE E4300. ANYWAYS THIS IS PROBABLY MY FIRST SUCCESSFUL OVERCLOCK SO IM VERY PLEASED WITH THE BAD AXE 2 AND THE 1.8 C2D.
asap18
sarahbau, well if you are calculating CPU speed then yes. I was talking about FSB, 471 quad pumped.
reghost
THE 6320 IS A QUAD CORE? EDIT: OOOPS TEMPORARY BRAIN FART, NEVER MIND THE QUESTION.
consolation
I find that I get better performance by setting the multiplier 2:1 and lowering the latency as opposed to a higher multiplier. Apparently 5:3 is really poor for Core2 as having the cache running synchronously with memory is a plus.
Paranoid Marvin
I've heard of people getting their E3400s up to 3.6ghz and over using and aftermarket cooler. That's over a 100% overclock Looks like the E3400 is a little overclocking gem. I'll be getting my own hopefully by the end of August and I might overclock it
