This will not teach you any complicated stuff and most anyone can do it. Now onward! Hi peoples I just thought i would post my findings with my laptop for people who are looking to do the same thing where a similar model book. My laptop: Intel Core2Duo 2.0Ghz 2.0Gbs of ram 17 inch wide screen integrated bluetooth Geforce 7600 Go 128MB Sigmtel 9250 Audio wireless Ok so i have my system working 100%(well maybe99 but close as in this 1. wake from sleep(works only when computer goes to sleep on it's own) 2.Full SpeedStep (1.0ghz to full 2.0 ghz) 3.Fan speed scaling fans go faster or slower depending on the cpu. 4. Full GFX(QE/CI) 5. Full 1680x1050 res 6. FULL SOUND WITH NO POPS OR CLICKS!(this took forever) 7.BlueTooth 8. Both CORES WORKING! 9. and everything else i'm forgetting. Ok so you are saying thats all fine and dandy for me but how do you benifet? well i will now impart my knowledge to you and you can do with it what you will. 1st the intel wireless card that this computer comes with does not work at the time of me writing this. The only choice i had was to get a new card. I choose the Dell TrueMobile 1390. Why? because it was CHEEP! Check ebay for a price but they dont get cheeper. and 2. This thing is detcted as an airport no problems. Ok so thats out of the way now what? Well it's time to get the dvd you will need to install OSX make sure you get the "UPHUCK 10.4.9 1.3" why not jas you ask? well i've tryed the jas dvd on this notebook at you will get pops and pows in your audio but not with this thats why! Ok so you downloaded it. That will not be talked about here. You got that thing on dvd woot! now here are the settings used to make this notebook work. This took me about 5 trys to get it right so i hope this helps! 10.4.9 Intel version kernel intel only -2 with SpeedStep Support Natit 0.2 for the Nvidia GFX card Power management bundle for the sleep Intel SpeedStep - for the speedstep what else? ---Optional---- Core duo speed/heat monitor (great to see if your core is really speedsteping) Firefox(gotta love it) VLC(wow movies) Quicktime plugins(look quicktime now can play stuff besides mov) INSTALL!!!!! after you are done you should be at the desktop. Jump on the internet and go to here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 make sure to get the newest version then go here http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ and download your audio card txt. In my case 9250 drag and drop the txt onto the AppleHDAPatcher app watch all the text wizz by(also take note of the SpeedStepping really kicks in here) reboot You now have you m685-e HackBook Pro!!! full audio no pops! P.S. Big thankyou to UPHUCK and everyone else who worked on the dvd it's amazing! hope this helped some noobs or people looking to buy a hackintosh to know what they are getting into. Later!
