zsharp
Hi, I just installed OS X JaS patched 10.4.6 on my HP dv5000z laptop. Now, I followed the instructions found here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to. However, I can't access my OS X installation either natively or via VMware. When I boot my virtual machine, it says there is no bootable device, and when I boot natively, I automatically boot Vista. I can access the terminal by booting the installation DVD to set my OS X partition as active, but I'm afraid I'll lose my ability to boot Vista, and if that occurs, I'd use my Vista DVD to restore the bootloader and I'd be back to square one.Do I need to install grub or something first? Thanks! EDIT: Can I install Ubuntu, then add entries to grub for both Vista and OS X like I read in another thread?
zsharp
Update: I added the chainloader0 to the Vista bootloader and now have a dual boot set up with Vista and OS X but the OS X gives me "still waiting for root device" error. I can verify that the files are on the disk by using TransMac, and I can browse the files. Can someone tell me if I need to add/edit/remove any kext files to help fix this problem? Thanks! zsharp
Problem solved. Used JaS 10.4.7 and the "still waiting for root device" doesn't appear if I boot with -f rd=disk0s2 platform=x86pc. Now to get wireless working.
