I made up my mind on buying a Dell XPS M1330, which unfortunately has the Intel GMA x3100 GPU. I'd like to hear your opinions about this. Will there ever be support from Apple for this GPU? If anyone heard any rumors about support please do tell.

Also don't tell me to buy a MacBook instead of this, I compared price/tech specs and imho there is no direct comparisson to this.

X3100 is supported in OSX 10.5 as most mac's have them in now. all you need is natit.kext for X3100 to get it working just go to here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry710886 as i have uploaded the files for the x3100 enjoy.

If its for media go for it but if its for game forget about the Intel X3XXX range as they aren't dedicated gfx cards.

I really can't understand what the fuss is!?

I have a HP DV6716ez with GMA x3100 (0x2a02, 0x000c), Although the installed kexts caused al kinds of havoc, I deleted them after installation and installed "Switchres", set a custom resolution of 1280x800x32@60, as this is the cause of the blank, white, blue and no display screens!

Then re-did the graphics update and it is currently running at 1280x800x32 on my machine!

It took a few reboots where it only showed the "Switchres" setting, it then automatically went back to the complete MacOS setting panel!

(pic included). i however keep "Switchres" running, I also have dual display and/or mirror! I can also enable OpenGL if wanted!
