JohnG
Does anybody know the best version to use in VMWare? I tried 10.4.8 but it won't work for me for some reason....
ssamayoa
I just downloaded and installed 10.4.8 Jas AMD + INTEL + SSE2 + SSE3 + PPF1 + PPF2 (I dont known the exact iso file name) with minor problems. This is my VM configuration: config.version = "8" virtualHW.version = "4" scsi0.present = "false" scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic" memsize = "512" ide0:0.present = "TRUE" ide0:0.fileName = "FreeBSD.vmdk" ide1:0.present = "TRUE" ide1:0.fileName = "D:" ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw" floppy0.present = "FALSE" Ethernet0.present = "TRUE" Ethernet0.connectionType = "hostonly" displayName = "MacOSX" guestOS = "freebsd" priority.grabbed = "normal" priority.ungrabbed = "normal" paevm="true" ethernet0.virtualDev="e1000" numvcpus = "1" I installed on VMWare Server 1.0.1 (you can download latest from VMWare's site), the only problem I have is that the OS runs slowed than I expected. My hardware: Dell Inspiron 6400 w/Centrino Duo 1.6 - 2GB RAM Host OS: Windows XP Media Center 2002 + SP2 (presintalled) Regards. I forget: It doesnt install from mounted iso image, I have to burn a DVD and use reald drive to do the install. Regards.

Im trying that same version in VMWare Workstation 6.0......and whenever I try to install it it just keeps going back to the beginning screen every time. Any Help? macgirl
The best and fastest for me is 10.4.3, I kept one and I use it sometimes to repair when things went wrong with my native installation or with my updated installation (right now 10.4.9, hope to update to 10.4.10)
sev7en
The best repack is the well-know Jas' 10.4.8 AMD + INTEL + SSE2 + SSE3 + PPF1 + PPF2. I am using it as base for any installation on hackintosh systems and it works like a charm. Recently I ran the Beta4 of Fusion and with no hacks (just disconnecting from the network due to a Fusion bug) I installed it with no problems. Performances are great but I prefer to run Windows application (not 3D) via Parallels.

You just have to use different CD emulation programs (Virtual Clone Drive, Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, etc.)
