iMags
I live in Norway and I just have to get an iPhone! (the Norwegian stores won't get it before September or so) Some rumors tells me that iPhone can be "unlocked" if you pay 175$ more, am I right? If so.. It will work in Norway and with Norwegian services. ...but have Apple already made the localization/language files for Norway? Is it possible that when I turn on my iPhone, I can choose between many different languages? What do you think?
GBK.Xscape
hmmm, well im not sure about the whole language thing but i know that you can just buy the iphone and then pay the money for the cancellation fee on the 2 year contract and then try and take it over to norway and see if it will work over there
Sabr
I'm pretty sure they'll have all the language files sorted. However, getting it unlocked may prove difficult.
U.C.
Most smartphones get unlocked pretty easily as far as I know. As far as the iPhone goes, my friend says he will be able to unlock it in 2 weeks after its release.
iMags
If it takes 2 weeks to unlock it, will I be able to do that myself? ....or should I wait 2 weeks after its release before I buy it?

If it was me, I'd wait until it is confirmed that the phone can be unlocked. May as well play it safe - Sabr.
iMags
Maybe I could ask one of you guys who is getting an iPhone to check if it has the norwegian language, and also three letters: Æ, Ø, Å on the keyboard. Would one of you do that?
Superhai
The keyboard is software, and the os is OSX so that implies that languages should be ready.
iMags
Okey.. so the only problem is that it is locked to AT&T, even though I pay 175$ I believe. Because I believe that the 175$ is only for canceling the AT&T montly-pay-thing/subscription, no unlocking. ...so that is great for people who already have an AT&T SIM-card, but not for people like me. In Norway we don't have AT&T, not even Vodafone or "3".

iMags
David Pogue (NY Times) told me, in an e-mail, that on his iPhone he can NOT choose other languages.
