Bunkalnarf
I want to do this as a proof of concept before going all in. I have VMWare setup like other guides have specified. I am using the uphuck 1.2 OSX disc. I just keep getting a genereic, "Because of a problem, installing Mac OS X could not be completed." Any help is appreciated, Thanks
cbmkgd
well, the proof of the concept has been given a good while ago. unless your hardware is particularly conflictual, i'd go native right away. in any case, whether you still try the vm way first or go native on the spot, you didn't give much info to work on. I suggest you search the forum and/or wiki for similar conditions/hardware, etc.
Bunkalnarf
Well I am trying to do this on a Dell Inspiron 6000, Pentium M processor, 512 megs of ram, Intel GMA shared graphics, ect.
micromanx86
Here's a good guide for installing OSx86 in VMware: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to
Macshiba
There isnt a real point in installing it in VMWare if you are going to end up trying it on your real hardware. VMware doesnt use the same hardware as your PC, so it could install fine in VMWare but not on your real hardware. Just make a test partition on your native drive, and try it, it cant hurt. If it boots it boots, if not, try 10.4.6.
