FuturDreamz Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 Before the Core Duo, there was an app that allowed you to run Mac OS X on Mac OS X. It was called Mac on Mac, or MOM (was a port of Mac on Linux), and does not work on Intel Macs. Is there any possible way to use VMWare, Parallels, Q, or another virtualizer to do this? I assume you are asking for pre-Intel machines. In that case simple solution is probably just buy a USB enclosure and use an old HD and install and boot on that. MOL and MOM could run OSX but it was pretty slow (a little unstable and cumbersome to setup). They were pretty fast at running classic up to 9.2 (which Sheepshaver won't do), but MOM and MOL were PowerPC. Maybe MOM or MOL can be ported to intel or run under Rosetta ...? BTW, it's nice to run in a virtual environment, but most past solutions have been a major hassle and not very stable. Since you want to run OSX on an OSX capable machine, Just pick up an extra hard drive (even externals are cheap these days) and forget about emulation ... Just my $0.02 cents ... cheers .. If the goal is to test new OS X releases before committing to installing them, having a slow non-accelerated solution won't be very useful. Sheepshaver will run Mac OS 9.0 though. macgirl Posted June 18, 2007 Share Posted June 18, 2007 I did not install it Directly on Fusion, I just use my Virtual Disk that it was created when I installed on VMware Windows. most of the VMX file lines are the same in Fusion, some differs.
