JanosX
At this point I am just looking for confirmation on proof of concept, I will worry about hardware specifics later. I am wondering if I can run OS X as my primary on my windows PC, and be running XP/ Vista on a second monitor in Parallels? I have had major issues even getting dual monitors to run on my card. If this is do-able I will get a card that OS X does support DM and go from there.
errandwolfe
You can do this with both Parallels and VMWare with no problems.
sarahbau
I can run XP in Parallels on my secondary monitor with no problem, but as soon as I turn off the VM, Parallels sets both monitors to 320x240 resolution, with the menu bar off the screen at the top, and the dock off the screen at the bottom. The mouse is still bound to what I can see, so I can't go off screen to the menu bar or dock. If I open System Preferences by navigating to it, I can choose different resolutions. However, this just confuses the computer even more. I've never been able to recover from this without restarting. Edit: Oh yeah. VMWare had no such problems, but after installing Parallels 3 trial, the mouse no longer works in VMWare. So basically now I can't use either VM. lol
errandwolfe
Wow, not having anything close to those problems here. I use both Parallels and VMWare in both Full Screen and Coherence (on Parallels) with zero problems. Don't have any issues with screen resizing or loss of mouse.
