MacVertigo
This is more of poll then anything. When the leo beta leaks.. and it will. Are you going to install it? Do you trust the beta as your main OS? I use my computer for work.. so I'm not sure I can take that risk.
Ampidire
That's what external hard drives are for.
lord_muad_dib
leo will not work on amd till the final release imo.. so i'm forced to wait.
rollcage
I'll probably install it, barring any major problems that come up. I would imagine that it will be pretty stable. I'll put it on an external drive first, and if it's stable enough I'll just use it as my main OS.
Soündless
i am going to wait to hear what is said at wwdc
NeSuKuN
Of course i'll install it at least on one machine, but its stabillity will be the factor to see if i install on the others
sandmanfvrga
If I could dual boot on my ibook, I would try it.
mac-mini
cant you just partition the driver with iPartition and dual boot?
MacVertigo
leo will not work on amd till the final release imo.. so i'm forced to wait. Or you could just go buy a real mac.
grzybu
probably I will try to install it on external hdd and if all my stuff works OK (cannot say that about 9a410 build) I will use it as a main OS
apowerr
Or you could just go buy a real mac. Some of us have real macs (albeit old) that dont support apples newer stuff. Such as my Mac Mini that doesnt support Core Image.
Cyman
It depends on the new features it will contain. If there is a new GUI, new file system, new Finder and other unawaited or expected features, then I will give it a try - but only on a seperate hard disk! idividebyzero
If theres an x86 version then sure. I used Vista Beta 2, RC, and Press releases as my main OS until I got an official Business disc. I imagine OSX will be around the same quality.
Alessandro17
If theres an x86 version then sure. Exactly. I don't own a real Mac, but I might buy one eventually (possibly a Mac Pro).
bonch
Stability will be the main issue for me. I'm not interested in a flashy new interface; I just want a reasonably stable environment to develop on.
t3mur
I'm planning to do a FULL CLEAN install on my 24" iMac.. anyone else on the same or similar page?
Pentad
I'm planning to do a FULL CLEAN install on my 24" iMac.. anyone else on the same or similar page? Yep, I'm with you on this. I plan on backing up my MBP, doing a fresh clean install of the beta, and a fresh install of my apps. I figure a good clean install to get rid of all the unwanted files left over in my user folder. I'm also going to do a fresh install of FF and only add a few extensions at a time as I need them. Over the past year or so I've installed a bunch of FF Exs but I'm not sure now what I really use. Leopard is a great excuse to do a little house cleaning. :-) -P
MacVertigo
1:30 my time.. when the hell is it going to leak. I can't wait!! I can't wait for updates to start hitting the web on jobs little talk!!!! AHHH.
pallish
Well... Personally, I think it's gonna take a bit longer seeing as only the developers present at WWDC gets the beta. But that's just a guess.
Ampidire
Stability shouldn't be an issue with a build meant to reach an audience this large. The previous WWDC build is arguably the most stable of all the builds, so I wouldn't expect any less of this build. I'm super excited to try this out now, if all goes well on my external 60GB; I'll clone the Tiger install to that, then freshly install leopard on the internal drive, and import my settings from Tiger. lieb39
Yep, I'll be installing it on my Macbook C2D as the main O.S. I need to format badly, and I figure this is a good excuse. Dual booting vista / leopard.. shall be interesting. Cheers
Atomsk
Yes, I plain on installing leopard as my main OS on my macbook pro. I don't think there will be a huge problem with stability but since I don't really use my laptop for anything crazy important.
nigelelliott394
i wonder what the chances are of this working on an ibook g4.......first generation....although it has 1GB of ram. I'd assume functional but possibly too slow to tolerate. what does anyone else think?
Paranoid Marvin
I've got a few free partitions on my external drive, so Leopard is definitely going on. If i can get it, that is....
mnit
I'm just waiting for a leak, I'm hoping (and I may be ignorant of existing leopard changes here) that it clears up a lot of the boobery surrounding AFP in tiger, given how the new finder deals with shares it certainly looks like they've put some thought into it.
