retroz
For some reason using an old 3COM card is a much faster user experience than any on-board LAN (mine is D945 Intel Motherboard). Anyway, used a 3COM card and its like 2x or 3X faster. Just an observation.
retroz
Anyone have an idea as to why this is? Difference is night and day! Thanks!
RedSox
Anyone have an idea as to why this is? Difference is night and day! Thanks! I changed to a card and it is much faster, i.e. bad on board drivers??
sandmanfvrga
Well on board means a cut in cost and value, most of the time. A GOOD PCI network card unless you are looking at a Broadcom or some other Gigabit on board, will out perform "plain old" 10/100 on board cards.
