LordSte
Is there any Linux driver for this audio codec that I can use along with HDA patcher? If not, is there any work around to get the STAC9271 working?
fumanju
why not just dump it yourself? direction is in the AppleHDA Patcher topic, search topic for ubuntu.
LordSte
Yea, took me awhile to find how to do that. Thanks for the response. I'm uploading it incase someone else needs it. Worked like a charm by the way. STAC9271D.txt
minime07
What motherboard do you have? I have an Intel DP35DP and this doesn't work. Any thoughts? Thanks
ion
I have Intel DG33TL motherboard and 9271D audio, but it doesn't work here neither. I opened several 9271 dump files with HDA Patcher and the first one seemed good, the patcher notified with a successful message but after a restart there weren't any sound devices recognized. b:z
Any word on getting this to work? I have a Bad Axe mobo with Sigmatel 9271D, and cannot get it to work for the life of me. Tried with several different Targua patchers to no avail. You should try HDAApple Sutution of Targua. I think it will help your sound enabled on your workstation. My sound card 9271D work well. First, download and unzip "STAC9271D_0x83847627_testing.zip" on your desktop. You will have "ALCinject.kext" and "AppleHDA.kext" on desktop. Then, execute these command below: $ sudo cp -R /User/yourusername/Desktop/ALCinject.kext /System/Library/Extensions/$ sudo cp -R /User/yourusername/Desktop/AppleHDA.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ $sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext $sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext $sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext $sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext $sudo rm -Rf /System/Library/Extensions.* ok, you can reboot your macos and enjoy sound. chappatti
with Kext Helper b7, install these kexts (ALCinject & AppleHDA) reboot & your onboard audio out should be working fine. Macinized: I can confirm this works!!!! Great tip and thanks!! x0x0 On Intel Dg965WH MB built in Sigmatel. ATI X1950 Pro. SATA drive. I first used the STAC9271 dump from a few posts above and ran it thru AppleHDAPatcher. I got no sound. But when I used the kexts and loaded with osx86 tools (free utility...ask google) IT WORKS!!!!!!!! BTW, loading the kexts BY THEMSELVES without the AppleHDA patcher thingy caused a freeze..go figure!!

Do you still have a copy of the STAC9271D_0x83847627_testing.zip file with the corresponding patcher you used. Once again the wiki is down that contains it. x.x The DG965WH is such a pain. x.x Update: N/M I figured out what was going wrong. I disabled the built in audio, booted into OS X, shut down, then went back into BIOS and enabled it again. When OS X came back up 10.5.5 detected it for some reason. x.x

mallard1983
I have tried everything that has been posted here, and still not having any luck getting sound. I am using a HP HDX 9494NR. It has a sigmatel 9271 chipset for the sound, and the sound works great in Vista. I really want to get the sound working in OS X since it is the only item left broken since I started this dual boot project. When I go look at the system info inside of Mac OS X it shows in the Audio (Build In) area that I have an Intel High Definition Audio. The Device ID is Ox103C30D4, and the Audio ID shows 12. The available Devices shows nothing though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I need to get any more information for someone to be able to help me fix this, just let me know and I will make it happen.
